What is the problem with an open southern border?

No it's not. If you want Asylum in the US you must claim it at the US border or port of entry if coming by air.

You don't get to decide where someone claims asylum and you don't get to decide Mexico is good enough for them when that is not where they want to claim asylum.

Many gangs have large networks all throughout central and South America and many people fleeing violence aren't any safer in those countries.
You're confusing asylum and migration.

I do mind the inflation that we've been experiencing, but you're ascribing it to the wrong source. Inflation doesn't rise because companies raise their prices, inflation rises when the amount of fiat currency in circulation rises. This happened when biden started passing out thousands of dollars to anyone who put a hand out. A company raises prices and consumers decide if it's worth their limited resources to purchase. Inflation rises when consumers have more cash on hand with no more work required for it.

Minimum wage shouldn't be tied to cost of living, these are starter jobs not careers. Minimum wage shouldn't be a thing period. Flippin burgers at McDonalds is more of OJT to learn work ethic, from there you move on to a job where you put that work ethic to use.Your real job starts when you decide what your career path is. Are you going into a trade then you get an apprentice position until you're a journeyman, are you going into business then you get a position within a business and learn from the ground up, while taking business courses. Are you going into the food industry, you get a job at a restaurant. It may start as a dishwasher, then a sous chef/line cook...There are ways around these steps, the way I did it was vocational school and then the military and I found it to be perfect for me.

Now my flapping gums have proved this point as well as yours have disproved it. I've told you that the data's incomplete therefore the conclusion is wrong, you've said I believe whatever the government tells me

Then why did the rate of inflation rise in every singles frirst world antion after Covid? The inflation we are seeing now is due to ongoing suply chain issue due to covid from manufacturing and shipping issues along with companies continuing to price gouge. The US actually ahs one of the lowest rates of infaltion in the world right now so it;s impossible to blame it on Bidens policies.

If there was no minimum wage there would be a race to the bottom as there is almost always someone less educated and more despearate who would work cheaper. This disincentivizes having good reliable employees which is what any business wants. You think immigration is an issue now? Remove the minimum wage and companies can pay a berry picker $2 an hour and you are encouraging these companies to higher immigrants who will work for that.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

You do realize, probably not, that minimum wage laws were created to offset the the loss of the dollar's purchasing power due to the expansion of the money supply, aka inflation. And actually, the inflation we are seeing today is a direct result of the unlimited and profligate spending and creation of new money being injected the economic engine of this Nation.

So you're pulling these straight out of your ass. Inflation rose in every first world nation for the exact same reason that it did here, governments pouring cash into the economy to have people stay home. This second sentence is hard to answer because you're wrong on every single point. Which ongoing supply chain issue are you talking about? Name a country and a product. Can you explain how price gouging causes inflation, in reality it's anti-inflationary. The reason that the US has one of the lower rates of inflation is because the Fed has been raising the interest rate which slows all markets, it actually does work, but it has a tendency to cause recessions. Look at the recession of the early 80's.

The last paragraph is just plain stupid, why would immigration be worse if there is no financial incentive to come here?

If that is the case why is the US inflation rate so much lower than every other G7 country? And why is the entire world experiencing inflation right now?

Do you think Biden controls the world?

No i'm not. I was responding to the person who claimed you could ask for US Asylum in Mexico
You missed the point, as you always do. If you are seeking asylum, you do so in the first safe port of entry you encounter. You do not - and can not - pick out a "special" destination country in which to claim asylum, passing through other countries on your merry way.

Well your article is from two years ago so it's not very relevant.

U.S. harmonized inflation generally rose and peaked earlier in the pandemic than the rest of the G7, measured on a 12-month basis. Though inflation remains elevated across all countries in this analysis, the U.S. now has the lowest 12-month harmonized inflation in the G7, both for overall and core inflation

Again you are wrong, a more apt descrtiption would be lsoing the first half and coming back to win considering we are now ahead of the rest of the word.

But keep spinning that 2 year old news.

You guys can't even have an honest conversation anymore.

  • Starting in July, the U.S. passed Canada for the lowest inflation rate among the G-7 countries, which represent some of the world’s biggest economies. And for the previous five months, the U.S. ranked a close second to Canada for lowest in the G-7.

It is exactly like earning interest in a bank account. 5% now and 2% later net you more than 2% now and 5% later. In the end the first one nets more money.

All you have to do is see the earnings reports from companies are through the roof for the last year and CEO pay is way up. No country has paid anyone anything in 2 years

The FED has held the interest rate steady since July of last year.

Three sources none of which are the nonsense you typed.

The current high inflation rate can be attributed to many different factors, many of which are a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Gapen pins rising prices on three general causes — increases in household demand and supply-chain shortages due to the pandemic, the war in Ukraine and the presence of a strong labor market.

Generally, the story goes something like this: At the start of the pandemic, consumers began spending less because of lockdowns, and in turn, started saving more. Then, when Covid-19 restrictions eased, people started spending more again. Companies, however, couldn’t keep up with this increased consumer demand — many of them had reduced production because of the pandemic and experienced shipping delays as well as shortages in labor and key inputs.

The result of all these things? Higher prices for most goods and services.

While price increases were seen across multiple categories in June, some of the largest price hikes occurred in gasoline, shelter, and food — the year-over-year increase in food prices was 10.4%, while for shelter it was 5.6% and for energy prices, 41.6%.

How is it unfair to legal immigrants?

Is getting cutting edge cancer treatment unfair to those who received radiation ten years ago?
How is it unfair to legal immigrants?

Because you ignorant twit...They went thru the naturalization process legally, to become U.S. citizens. They didn't sneak across the border...you know...illegally! Those that are sneaking across the border have no intention of becoming a US citizen. They should not be rewarded with free money, healthcare, housing, food, etc. Why don't you do us all a favor and try sneaking across the border into another country and see what happens.

How in any way does this answer any question? It doesn’t even jive with the article you posted, in fact the only thing it does show is that Biden’s energy policies were one of the main drivers of inflation.
Stating that the fed has held rates steady since July is completely irrelevant since they’d raised them 11 times prior to that.
If you were female I’d be giving you the “oh honey” by now, instead I’ll just give you the look of disdain.
