I heard what I thought was shotgun fire, but something wasnt right about how it sounded- like a tubular "thunk" sound just before the "boom"- so I dont think it was shotguns.

It is interesting to note that information such as
this and most any other CRE discussions that have
an effect on the safety and well being of residents
there seem to have been quietly 'filtered out' of the
CRE forum. You now just get the usual "public service
announcements" about yard sales, craft fairs and
other "nice" stuff. No discussion about the situation
there about the corporation or the tax districts or the
agreements with the county that directly impact the
homeowners there, both in their checkbooks and their
daily lives.

No further discussion or information is posted about the
board of director activities or budget.

It appears that 'the powers that be' have gotten control
of that forum and now decide "what is good for us" and
"what we need to know". And the rest is just 'fluff' to
keep the folks thinking that all is well.

NO further reports on the shootings and house-breakings.

NO further reports on the activities of the Neighborhood Watch.

NO further reports on road work or snow clearing plans.

NO further reports on the beaches or lake cleanup.

Not everyone can go to the "meetings" that are "conveniently"
held in the middle of the day in the middle of the week. Most
have JOBS to work at so they can PAY the exhorbitant tributes.

Not everyone has constant internet access to the CRE site
that is restricted to property owning residents only. Some (a
LOT now) are renters and/or absentee property owners and
thus cannot gain access to the "privileged" information. (It's
actually easier to obtain CLASSIFIED information from the
US GOVERNMENT that get day-to-day information from CRE!)

Not everyone has the free time or the privilege of leaving their
job site to go to the Administrative Office and spend countless
hours dealing with the belligerent staff who cannot/will not get
the information requested.

SO...they rely (or relied) on the last bastion of free exchange
of information and read the CRE forums. Looks like that, too is
now tightly controlled.

The board agenda and minutes are posted, and we are mailing out a monthly newsletter to help keep residents informed.

Things have been relatively quiet, there is no attempt to control information or keep anything quiet. we are awaiting the results of the annual audit and will publish them as soon as we get it.

the only committee that meets during the day is roads, and upon request they will meet at night to accomadate members. it has been done.

ALL RESIDENTS of CRE can obtain a login to poacre.org, this has been published in these forums before, if you find this to be untrue, please email me at president@poacre.org

The CRE board has put NO control or constraints on information posted in the CRE forum. I have posted there, when there factual information to be put out. I will try and put more there, please remember, we ( the board of directors) are volunteers also and have jobs. Thanks for reading,
Travis

It was fireworks.....Christ....

Don't believe the conspiracy theorists. It was a shooting. The cop even said it was a shotgun no less. :faint: Probably the newly elected CRE mafia taking care of some non-fee-payers, hence the reason it's being covered up! Isn't it obvious?

That's a mortar then..somebody is firing a mortar. No big deal..happens all the time here on the island.

I guess our regular Sunday afternoon backyard skeet shooting parties would not be well received if held in CRE??

:yay: You can mail the newsletter to them, but you can't make them read it.

You can invite them to the meetings, but you can't make them attend.

Woogie...if you are waiting for us to put a bib on you and spoon feed you information, it aint happening. You can go to POACRE.ORG and get any information you want. You can go to our Facebook page and get any information you want. The last newsletter had an individual email contact for each person on the BOD. All of our meetings except for roads committee are held in the evenings or Saturdays and they are posted online and at the entrances. If you can't get information, then it's your own damn fault.

There is no conspiracy. However, I just bought a double roll of heavy duty aluminum foil and would happy to make you a tin foil hat and deliver it to you.

I am sick of hearing you crybabies that want everything done by fairies for free. Personal responsibility. Step up and help or keep being part of the problem.

I don't believe Woogie can go to www.poacre.org. It's my understanding that Woogie moved out of CRE some time ago. So he is not a member.

The POACRE website is updated regularly. Minutes are posted quickly compared to the past boards. Our minutes have not been pulled down for a re-write and we are not fighting any whales. The Facilities Committee is cleaning up the walking trails. They are also planning to bring a plan to the members for upgrading the Clubhouse and the Lake Building. The Finance Committee is watching every penny in a manner that would make scrooge smile. The Lake Committee Reports that the Lake is healthier than it has been in some time. We brought back the Halloween Haunted House and Hayride and this Saturday there will be a really nice Children's Christmas Party. Neighborhood Watch has 133 active blocks and they are working on more. There's Yoga at the clubhouse every Monday Night. So.... this board is working with the committees and getting things done.

We discuss issues out on Southern Maryland Online so that those who are Residents or ex-members can participate.

It's also a place where we can go and complain if the Board is not doing as it should. I gotta admit, I haven't had a lot to complain about lately.

So.... Boogie Woogie... the reason there isn't a lot of cr@p on the CRE website on SOMD Online... is because we're all very busy doing like we should. Amazing how when everyone is behaving like a community... it gets so boring on these sites....

No Conspiracy or CoverUP here.... just lots of hard work, aching bones, cold pizza, and good results.... Volunteers are taking the lead here....

Travis and Becky;

Thank you for your response! THAT is the kind of information
that is needed to be put into the public forum! You need to
toot your horns more! Let people know the POSITIVE things
going on! The information you just posted has great benefit
to both your organization and the members!

That's the purpose of me poking you with my stick! You need
to respond to the community as a whole! Remember! The
community as a whole reads all of the BAD stuff in the papers
and sites like St. Mary's Today (or what ever took its place).

Suggestion: You all need to designate a board member as a
Public Information Officer and get things into the papers and
sites that show the advancements that you are making! For
too long people have been getting only the scandals and the
negative news! If you want to raise your credibility, get more
positive news out there!

It will also go a long way to offset the smart-a**ed posts
here by even me and others from within your ranks! And if
you do THAT then I ahve accomplished what I've set out to
do! Which is to try to get things improved there! Yes, Becky,
you're correct. I moved a few years back after being a victim
of a home invasion. The crime was increasing, the board at
the time had their heads in the sand and the police wouldn't
touch CRE with a ten foot pole because of the reputation it
has with the county government. So I had to do what was
best to protect my family and all that I/we had worked for.
Was NOT going to expose my household to further life-threatening
situations (the little 15-17 year old 'children' WALKED with
probation and NEVER paid the court-ordered restitution and
continued to OPENLY harass our neighborhood) so I sold out
and moved as I saw the property values rapidly declining and
the physical plant of CRE also rapidly declining and THAT was
before the economy tanked! In the past few years it has gotten
WORSE there and it has been aggravated further by such things
as the "great whale debacle", fiscal mismanagement, and other
scandals from within as well as the LACK of such basic services
that ALL of CRE pays for such as adequate police protection and
assistance with public works projects like the lake cleanup and
storm water management among others.

I still have many friends in CRE and I worry greatly about their
very survival based on recent happenings there. The community
could be so much more if it were managed properly. You all have
your work cut out for you! And your biggest hurdle to overcome
will be the lack of confidence of your own community based on
past practices from within. It will be MANY years but I think it
WILL be possible to get things back in order.

Meanwhile..I'll keep poking you with my stick....and YOUR job is
to poke the COUNTY with YOUR stick! Remember YOU are there
FOR the membership! Good luck!
