Some of the stuff I see today, drives me crazy. It's only going to get worse. I don't want to be around to see drugs sold in grocery stores, more shooting at the schools, more abuse of children, more abandoned dogs & cats, etc.

It's all so sad. My Grandmother saw the Wright Bros fly. She also saw a man walk on the moon. That is something to be able to say.

She witnessed depression, war, gas rationing, etc. She 'saw too much,' according to her. I don't want to say that, too.

I just want to know that my kids & grandkids are going to be OK.
I want to know they have a good life, and they aren't subjected to life's pitfalls.

:yeahthat:

Wanna help me board up my windows and becom a hermit?

I wouldn't want to live forever. I try to live life to the fullest every day and to be sure those I love know they are loved. Forever is an awfully long time! I'll take Heaven.

I'd want to be taller.

I'd need to be taller, too. And thinner. :ohwell:

1-I wish I was little bit taller,
I wish I was a baller
I wish I had a girl who looked good
I would call her
I wish I had a rabbit in a hat with a bat
and a '64 Impala

I wish I was like six-foot-nine
So I could get with Leoshi
Cause she don't know me but yo she's really fine
You know I see her all the time
Everywhere I go, and even in my dreams
I can scheme of ways to make her mine
Cause I know she's livin phat
Her boyfriend's tall and he plays ball
So how am I gonna compete with that
'Cause when it comes to playing basketball
I'm always last to be picked
And in some cases never picked at all
So I just lean upon the wall
Or sit up in the bleachers with the rest of the girls
Who came to watch their men ball
Dag y'all! I never understood
Why the jocks get the fly girls
And me I get the hood rats
I tell 'em scat, skittle, skibobble
Got hit with a bottle
And put in the hospital, for talkin' that mess
I confess it's a shame when you livin' in a city
That's the size of a box and nobody knows yo' name
Glad I came to my senses
Like quick-quick got sick-sick to my stomach
Overcome with my thoughts of me and her together
Right?
So when I asked her out she said I wasn't her type
(rpt 1, 1)

I wish I had a brand-new car
So far, I got this hatchback
And everywhere I go, yo I gets laughed at
And when I'm in my car I'm laid back
I got an 8-track and a spare tire in the backseat
But that's flat
And do you really wanna know what's really wack, What
See I can't even get a date
So, what do you think of that?
I heard that prom night is the bomb night
With a hood rat you can hold tight
But really tho' on figuero
When I'm in my car I can't even get a hello
Well so many people wanna cruise Crenshaw on Sunday
Well then I'm gonna have to get in my car and go
You know I take the 110 to the 105
Get off on Crenshaw tell my homies look alive
Cause it's hard to survive
Livin' in a concrete jungle and
These girls just keep passin' me by
She looks fly, she looks fly
Makes me say my, my, my
(rpt 1, 1)

I wish I was a little bit taller...
I wish I was a baller...
I wish I was a little bit taller y'all
I wish I was a baller (3)

Hey, I wish I had my way
'Cause everyday would be a Friday
You could even speed on the highway
I would play ghetto games
Name my kids ghetto names
Little Mookie, big Al, Lorraine
Yo you know that's on the real
So if you're down on your luck
Then you should know just how I feel
Cause if you don't want me around
See I go simple, I go easy, I go greyhound
Hey, you, what's that sound?
Everybody look what's going down
Ahhhh, yes, ain't that fresh?
Everybody wants to get down like that

Is there really such a thing?

Yes. Me. I'm perfectly normal, rational and sane. It's the rest of y'all that are all screwed up.

Seriously, who wants to live forever? To sit there and watch everyone you care for and ever will care for die before you? To have to change your way of life every so often because you don't recognize the world around you anymore? Honestly, what would there be to live for?

I think it would be very educational to see first hand, two centuries of events. This would be the time to do it. The decline of cilivization, the fall of one or more empires. It would be an experience.

Unless I could go back in time and live trough the Roman Empire or the Italian Renaissance. Then I would do that instead.

As for watching your loved ones die and being essentially alone for two hundred years, I've watched a dozen die in ten and more are sure to come. Loss is inevitable and pain is a necessary evil for the human experience.

So have I, but there's a difference between losing a number, and losing all. How many times would you get close to someone, to watch them die, before you refused to do it again?

Watch what you ask for... I've seen one loved one spend the last 8 years of her life completely bedridden from a stroke. I've seen one out-live 4 of her 6 children. I've seen several others spend years in a room in an old folks home watching the clock and waiting for the end. And most all that live near or into triple digit ages are suffering health-wise in someway.

This leaves something to be said for going out with your last words being "Hold my beer..."

I"m a deeply sensitive person who gets attached to people easily. I've also been hurt a great deal.

Even still, I refuse to become bitter and even if my time with a person turns out to be damaging or short-lived, I never stop putting myself out there. Twice I have been hurt enough to consider it, but its not in me to shut myself off. It's part of who I am.

I think I heal faster on the inside than a lot of people. So I keep dancing if when my feet hurt.

Live forever.... die at 50 and healthy.... gimme death at 50. Kids are old enough to understand, and I don't die some long, lingering death.

Gimme 50 years, then take me away.
