The St. Mary’s College of Maryland (SMCM) Office of Public Safety has received a $375,000 grant from the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) under the Campus Safety Grant initiative proposed by Governor Wes Moore in his FY 2025 budget for the State of Maryland.

Data from student MCAP assessments for the 2023-2024 school year was released today by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE). Across the state, students are showing slow growth on mathematics, English Language Arts (ELA) and science assessments. MCAP, or Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program, assessments measure a student’s mastery of content and readiness for the next grade level.
