10 Years Ago Today

Hard to believe that it was ten years ago today that TWA 800 went down.

Does anyone really believe that it was the fuel tanks exploding or was this just an Al Qaeda attack that was covered up?

I suspect it was a off the shoulder missle attack of some sort... there were eyewitnesses who swear they saw something fly up with a thin trail of smoke just prior to the explosion, however, I don't think it was Al Qaeda as they would have been quick to claim it.

...I really believe the fuel tanks exploded...right after the missile hit.

There was a retired Air Force pilot who reported seeing a missile coming from below and hitting the plane.

Al Qaeda didn't issue its "fatwa" until Feb 1998, but the first WTC bombing had links to Al Qaeda types (bin Laden's buddies) and Al Qaeda made no claim to that attack. It wasn't until after the fatwa that they started making claims of credit for the terrorist acts.

Hundreds saw what looked like a missile and were ignored. The one thing that has always made me suspect was that the lead investigation was handled by law enforcement right from the get-go and not the NTSB. Why?

Al Qaeda/terrorists is what I believe...but I had a long discussion with a former Air Force 1 pilot(end of Bush Sr's term, all of Clinton, month of W; his son and our son played hockey together) and he firmly believed it was a spark in the fuel tank from the data he had seen.

Have a VHS tape made by a guy that didn't believe the official story, can't remember his name but he wrote a book about it also. Will toss it in the car and give it to ya next time I see ya, if you like. Interesting tape.

...the FBI interview over 100 people who said they saw a streak of light heading UP to the plane before it blew. They were told that they simply don't understand how explosions look at night, that things blow up and then LOOK like the fiery debris is flying back UP to the explosion, like on 4th of July.

Also, as fas as I know there was no fleet wide shut down of 747's to upgrade the wiring blamed for the explosion and there's been no lawsuit against Boeing for their design killing people. Airlines did get sued, however, for cockpit doors failing on 9/11, yes?

Was it by Commander Donaldson? He did his own investigation and made a taped simulation of the scenario.

...knows someone who knows someone at NTSB that was invloved and they swear it was as officially reported.

I was 14 and remember it clearly, but I don't remember their being controversy about the cause. I might have to do a little research to educate myself.

Since there have been numerous ground explosions similar to 800, I believe the fuel tanks did explode.
