i find prophecies really interesting too.
but to think for myself for a moment...anyone could say anything and it will eventually happen.
i notice the prophecies don't come with dates and events, only events.
so i can say, " a man wearing red, will bring down a country with a single swing." now give me 1000 years and when it happens you interpret it.
I dismissed Y2K the day I heard about it. This, on the other hand, is just a little bit harder to just shrug off.
OMG.
the Gullibilese near Langtang, they are more famous as sherpas, but their scriptures date back to about 600 BC and their predictions have been astonishing. they predicted the british rule of india and its demise among other things
My step-son has heard about this at school and has tried the argument that he really sees no point to doing his homework since the world is ending before he gets to graduate anyway! Nice try!
Is Langtang off of Alabama Avenue in SE, near the old Sears building?
Lets say some people believe these prophecies to be true were as the ones that don't believe go about thier daily lives? There would be piliging, raping of the innocent, killing and total hedonism... Its sad and scary, what do you tell children. IF something happened and you to have to explain to a child young enough not to understand it will be the hardest thing in your life as a parent. When we had to fly my child wanted to know about why we have to take our shoes off and why we have to have our carry ons scanned and why we have to be "x-rayed" That was an interesting conversation a lot of "but why?" the kid was in shock.
You're right that it is hard to explain certain things to children. There have been the world changing events like 9/11 and the personal events like why a man shot their cousin to death and their uncle committed suicide. In the case of the 12/21/2012 - something will probably happen on that day but IMHO I don't believe the world will end on that day because Jesus said it is not for us to know the hour or the day and I don't believe we will. We will see the signs of the end times but IMO no exact date will be known beforehand.

Way to fall for the stupid hype, Andy.
So, it is feasible to say, that 12/21/2012 could be the BEGINNING of the end?
What hath thee to say, almighty one?
I've wondered the same thing myself. I think that is feasible to say.
