Might have been in Australia as this is where the fellow's operating the site is from. The site shows 3 pictures of the incident. However, I wonder if the driver was wearing his seat belt? If not, I imagine that he went face first, really hard, into the lifting structure.

No, thats USN. We had a discussion about this on one of my AO FB groups. Some of the folks in the group were involved. Note the last picture, you see that sailor in the distinct USN dark blue coveralls. The RAAF, which is the only group in Australia to work with these mines, doesn't have a uniform like that.

There's one girl there with long strawberry blonde hair that can't be over 12.
I know who you mean, starts her freshman year at college in the fall. She is smart, has a pleasing demeanor and a HUGE work ethic.

Hey there, I totally understand your concern about a 17 year old operating a forklift. I was actually in the same boat when I was 18 and worked for a forklift sales company. However, I believe that age is just a number and what really matters is the level of training and experience the individual has. It's important for businesses to follow safety regulations and ensure that their employees are properly trained and certified to operate heavy machinery. But we should also give young people the opportunity to gain valuable skills and experience in the workplace, as long as they are properly trained and supervised.
