No i understand that its the End times, and the parables in the Book of Daniel. I'm trying to understand the ties to the Muslim faith.

I thought you were asking where the "7 years" came from.

So you got me about the ties to Islam. The pact a peace treaty that is to be between the antichrist and the nation of Israel. There's quite obviously no mention of Islam in Daniel.



However, since the treaty is one of peace, currently there's only primarily one threat the Israels peace, and it's the surrounding arab nations. So that's probably why that's often the interpretation.

Me, I hold no such interpretation, although it's interesting to note that in Islamic eschatology there are a lot of parallels to the Christian version, including an antichrist (whom they call ad'Dajjal) and the return of Christ to destroy him.

Hi Toxick. It appears that you have a good understanding of how Islamic eschatology parallels with New Testament prophecy of the antichrist. It's refreshing to find individuals who have some familiarity in this area and are able to see that maybe - just maybe there is something to the present day unfolding of events.

I know that you don't hold to the "prophetic interpretations" that Iranian Prez, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, believes in but just for the matter of this discussion, here is one Hadith and commentary from Islamic theology regarding al-Mahdi:

"Narrated AbuSa'id al-Khudri: The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: The Mahdi will be of my stock, and will have a broad forehead a prominent nose. He will fill the earth will equity and justice as it was filled with oppression and tyranny, and he will rule for seven years. "
(Sunan Abu Dawud: Book 36, Number 4272)

"According to these reliable, authentic, and universally accepted narrations, Mahdi will:

1.Be from among the family of Prophet(SAW), among the descendants of Fatima(RA);
2.Have a broad forehead and pointed noise;
3.Appear in one night;
4.Appear just before the day of judgment;
5.Have same name as hazrat Muhammad(SAW);
6.Escape from Madina to Makkah where people will pledge allegiance to him;
7.Receive pledge and help of Iraqi people;
8.Fight in battles;
9.Rule over the Arabs for seven years according to Sunnah;

11.Eradicate tyranny and oppression;
12.Lead a prayer in Mekkah which Jesus(pbuh) will follow in;

LOL - Actually, those predictions about the year 2012 do not specifically indicate that it is the "end of the world" but more than likely a significant global event that this world will undergo that marks a dramatic change in chronological time as we know it.

Also, whether by "coincidence" or prophecy, it is anticipated that when antichrist takes control of the world system he will change the time period of the world. Perhaps that is where the Gregorian based calendar date of 2012 will end and a new calendar begins to signify the New World System.

If a New World Order (One World Government/One World Religion) is to take place, it is likely that an Antichrist System would want to mark the "Beginning" of its point in history with a new calendar rather than continue to be referenced to the Gregorian Calendar that is dated on the basis of Christ's Birth.

Who knows? We shall see in a few short years, eh?

It's all scientific though, and it has nothing to do with religion. The peak of the solar storm which is expected to be as severe as 1958 which in a modernized world would be disaster. In 1958, the solar storm was so severe the Northern Lights could be seen in Mexico. It will be an astonishing sight.

However, this has been researched. Discovery Channel has aired numerous documentaries on how WCS would be prevented.

The other thing that will happen on 12.21.2012 is a Galactic Alignment. Earth comes into perfect “precessional” alignment with the center of the Galaxy. This could cause a polar shift which could cause major weather catastrophes.

Of course the only places I've seen that genuinely believe this polar shift will occur are on websites kookier than this one, started by whackjobs that make you righties look sane.

Interesting that Islam has parallel eschatology that is similar to New Testament Prophecy about the end of days when all sorts of cataclysmic things will happen on the earth. The Islamic saviour is al-Mahdi who is accompanied by Isa' (Islamic version of Jesus).

New Testament Prophecy indicates that antichrist will be accompanied by a "false prophet" and many tribulations on earth and signs in the heavens will occur.

Regarding a "shift" in the polarity, there are some specific references in the Islamic Hadith that "the hour" will not occur until "the sun rises from the west". I'd say that points to a shift in the earth's axis:

Sahih Muslim Book 041, Number 7039, states:
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) having said: Hasten to do good deeds before six things happen: the rising of the sun from the west, the smoke, the Dajjal, the beast and (the death) of one of you or the general turmoil.
