13 fuel receipts, 1 new rear tire, one rather large bug off the windshield onto the sunglasses, a squash, a warning ticket from the US Department of the Interior Park Ranger, and one sore ass.

I may post pics later.

Welcome back, sounds like fun, but I have to ask. A squash?

...why I am opposed to the Nanny state. We do NOT need to be protected from ourselves. The human capacity for suffering is vastly under rated, self inflicted or otherwise.

2 Fridays ago I left on my journey and made it about 20 miles before the first incident. A truck in Mechanicsville bound for the farmers market evidently lost a box of really nice yellow summer squash on to the road.

I was not about to wipe out 20 miles from home on a 2000 mile journey trying to avoid a squash so I just ran it over. About 10 miles later I notices seeds on my right boot.

It was a great time. The scenery was spectacular, the air was clear, the curves were sweet. Only unpleasant time was this afternoon in the heat coming home.

...great. That's still a #### load of saddle time.

It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I admit near the end of the day the stops got more frequent but in the end (ha! a pun) it was not that bad.

On the 2 lane curvy and country roads I didn't even notice it much. On the interstates I did. Booooooooooooring

...that's interesting. It's not nearly as bad as you thought it would be and yet you chose to set off on an adventure you thought, at the outset, would be bad. Hmm.

Lotta miles. How many days???

I said not "as bad as I thought" not "bad" as in not enjoyable.

Most of the riding was done in 5 days.
