Yup...i never thought I'd BUY a mixed breed, but Rottncop wanted a Pug and i didn't want the health issues with that breed...he's gonna be so mad  let's see what my marriage is made of....

Not all pugs have health issues

Cute puppy but I will stick with my Pug

After much adoo, and gritching and moaning...YOU PAID MONEY for a mutt???

he changed his name

We got him from Gideon Stolzfuss Jr just down rt 6. He does a better job with his puppies than many Mennonite or Amish i've met, he got my name, and phone number for the record, gave me his shots records, gave him is last shot, and wormed him before i took him! I was impressed! That is a nice man. His kids don't speak English yet, they won't learn until they go to school. They speak PA Dutch.

Thanks! I've seen 2 signs for Puggle puppies on RT 6 just down from the intersection @ Rt 5. I'll have to check into it.

Hay does anyone have any experience with Rat Terriers? I adopted a 6 y/o female from Tri-County this past week. She's an awesome dog and I can't believe she was a stray??? Completely housebroken and well mannered! They were getting ready to put her down since she had been there a while! So sad that all the pups get adopted but people seem to shy away from a dog that's a little older! I've never had a Rat Terrier but have done some research on the net....just wondered if anyone in here has had one?

I have one also adopted from Tri-County. Mine is 6 now and very spoiled. Warning! They can really jump!

Vince is the actual resident expert on the breed.

She seems like someone had really cared for her! She's very confident YET a little reserved. No bad habits so far! She seems very unimpressed with most things and is a little picky when it comes to dinner time?!* She doesn't like any treats (or maybe doesn't know what they are?) or bones or toys! Very content to hang out with me all day and ride in the car! She's very sweet! So who's Vince?

Great for you for taking her in. I have some great dogs that were strays. I have such a hard time going to the shelters, want to rescue all of them.
I have never owned a Rat Terrier but I do have JRT's, I think they are of the same family breed.

I read that Teddy Roosevelt actually named the Rat Terrier....they were used for killing rats in barns...he apparently had 3 of them at the White House. Broke my heart to see all those dogs @ the Shelter! I'm so happy I adopted her! My husband said I'm not allowed to go there anymore and "look"! Oh well!

Mine would kill for peanut butter. :lmao:
She is skittish around certain noises like the vacuum cleaner or when you snap open a trash bag, but utterly fearless around other animals (especially those much larger than her.) She loves ALL people.
We also play with her squeeky babies.

Vince is a forumite. I'm surprised he hasn't logged onto your other thread. Must be a busy work day.

Better known as a Puggle  The chic "in" cross-breed right now, but not why i got him, i just think that is a cute mix (and he IS darling). I also like Cocka-Poos and Shi Tzus (sp?) but can't bring myself to deal with all the hair, i have a hard time grooming my long haired himmies. :ohwell:
I didn't think i'd find this mix in the shelter, i went the last few weeks, and finally saw some cute Poms...only to be told they weren't up for adoption after all, and after all i went through to talk myself into the hair. :burning:
