3 Car Seats? What Do You Drive?

Does anyone here have to have 3 car seats in their car? If so, what do you drive?

I'm really thinking I need to get a new car once the twins are here - I'm in a CR-V right now and I just don't know that I can comfortably put 3 car seats in the back! Granted, my daughter is 3 so isn't in such a bulky seat (high back booster with harness), but I'm looking to get Britax car seats for the babies, and they are kinda bulky.

Thoughts?

I was so resistent to the minivan but finally gave in two years ago and I love it!! Normally I only have two but I have had my nephew's car seat in there as well and my SIL and mom with plenty of room.
Plus Honda's minivan is supposed to be on of the best out there.

I have the Yukon XL and it fits 7 comfortable, I can put 3 big car seats on the bench seat perfectly. If you get a big SUV I also suggest getting the XL not just the Yukon, not much more different in price and you'll love the room and with twins our gonna need it..

Friend of mine has a Toyota Sienna, minivan.
2 seats in front
2 seats in middle
1 bench in rear
car seats in the 2 middle seats and 1 in the center of the bench
works really well for movie watching during long trips
and they have lots of space

I agree with the XL as well. U have so much more room than the regular ones. That was one thing we looked for as well.

I have 3 carseats. I am in an Avalon now. But, I'll be switching to a minivan next week. Never thought I'd say this but...:yahoo:

With the sales going on right now, time is right to buy a minivan or SUV. I personally don't like Dodge, but the lifetime warr. is a good reason to buy one.

We currently have an extended wheelbase Chevy Venture minivan (7 passenger w/ all captain's chairs) and a Ford Focus. Will never use the Focus for the entire family since it doesn't seat 6. Can fit 3 kids in the backseat of it, even with 2 boosters.

We are moving #2 son to the backseat of the minivan along with #1 son, then removing the center seat (for easy access to back seats) and putting #1 daughter behind driver and putting #2 daughter behind the front passenger seat. Can put the center seat back in if needed and just have the boys climb over it when folded.

I have a practically brand new britax car seat if you are interested. They're expensive new, I paid over $250.00 for it and she's too tall for it now. It was used only as a back up car seat.

I have a Ford Explorer with the third seat. Whenever I needed to tote all three car seats, I'd flip up the third and put the oldest in the back.

I have the Honda Minivan and I love it! Sometimes I think about getting a car but just can't part with my van yet. It is typically me and my two girls (one in a car seat) running the roads but I have had as many as 4 adults and 4 kids (2 in car seats) and was quite comfortable. :howdy:

HalfAngel - When my twins came along, we had a 12 month old as well, and we traded our older model Expedition for a Chrysler Town and Country.

You def. need either a large SUV with a 3rd row or a minivan.

We have a new Expedition now...

We put the oldest in the 3rd row of the minivan and the twins in the bucket seats. Worked perfectly since the oldest could climb in the back by himself and I could just snap the twins carseats into the bases. And that is exactly what I do now as well, my 5 year old is in the 3rd row single seat, and the twins are in the bucket seats.

Good luck in your search!!!
