3 Dogs Poisoned

In that case, I hope the dog gets the help it needs. That said, this is another case of people having pets that they can't afford to take care of. No money set aside, no credit, nothing. Who suffers? The pet.

And why/how were her dogs poisoned? Is she allowing them to run around the neighborhood? Are they barking all day and night because they're tied to a tree in the back yard?

Not trying to be mean, but sometimes people bring things on themselves.

I completely get where you're coming from. When she came home and told me I thought the very same things.
From what I gather, they're still not sure how the pups were poisoned.
Pretty sure they were ready for normal vet bills (if there is such a thing) but not something like this.
The vets just making sure they get paid. Their ready to let the dog come home but want at least a partial payment. Can't blame them for that. Sounds like they're working with them the best they can.

Cats don't belong on cars. And I'd be hella pissed if I came outside to find one on any of my vehicles... my own cat included.

Meamie. I bet you would poison my sweet Ava.

My office parking lot is next to a wooded area. Their are 3 feral cats that some office women feed and they've placed some cat carriers in the woods for them to have shelter. These cats sleep on our cars all the time, crawl on the cars, etc. is it a nuisance, YES, but I'd never EVER think to poison them. Nor would the 300 other plus people that work in my building. We will bitch about them, but poison them?? seriously???? WTF??

Didn't it end up in a tree? I can't remember, but that freaking movie was funny. :killingme

Newscaster: Pamela Mills here in Van Nuys where a rare breed of African lion was captured in a residential neighborhood. Sir, what was going through your head when you saw the lion.

Dante: This #### is ####ing crazy. I don't know how lion got into the neighborhood. I heard some growlin' and ####. So my roommate and I, we go to check this #### out. I look up in the tree, and there's the ####ing king of the jungle! It was staring right at me. I almost #### my ####ing pants. So I ran inside and called the 5-0.

My neighbors allow their cat to roam the neighborhood, and she used to sleep on my rag top. You know what cats do to things they claim as their own? They scratch them. I told the neighbors that their cat was sleeping on my rag top, and that I was concerned about her scratching it. They told me to shoot it.

I haven't seen the cat around in a while. It probably crawled off into the woods and died.

The bottom line is when you let/leave your pet out unsupervised than you are giving up your ability to protect them and leaving them to suffer whatever cruelties and harm comes their way. It is a choice we consciously make whenever we put them out and then walk away.

:eyebrow:

So you are saying this vet won't work out a payment plan and refuses to let her dog come home, thereby incurring more expense?

As a dog owner, vet bill payer, etc., something feels "off".

There is nothing "off". The dogs were poisoned. I would not have posted the information if I did not know the family personally. All donations are being sent directly to the vet, not the owners. The information can be verified by the vet. This is not a scam. This family has paid over $1,000 already to try and save the dogs. Sadly, 2 have died and they just want to bring the survivor dog home. They are selling almost everything they have to take care of the vet bill and just need some help.

Reasons why it's "off":

1) they were poisoned. WTF! How does that happen? Sounds strange.
2) vet won't allow them to take the dogs, won't work out a payment plan, and is charging them more. Sounds very screwy.

That doesn't mean it's a lie, since it's clearly being sent to a real vet, but the whole situation seems screwy.

1) they were poisoned. WTF! How does that happen? Sounds strange. Unfortunately there are sick individuals in this world. The emergency vet misdiagnosed the dogs. Once it was verified that they were poisoned 2 had already died.
2) vet won't allow them to take the dogs, won't work out a payment plan, and is charging them more. Sounds very screwy. They do not have any credit and everything they have applied for has been denied. Each day is another charge because the vet charges an additional fee for each day the dog stays.

Thank you to anyone who helped this family either by purchasing items or donating directly to the vet. I am very happy to say that they were able to bring their dog home this evening. :)
