$300 Billion Bail Out Clears The Senate

I hate numbers; there's too many of them (Beavis & Butthead). Even I was able to figure out how much of a house I could afford. In retrospect, I probably could have gone for a little more house, but that weren't the way I wuz raised.

How damm hard is that?

Me too. That is the thing everyone thinks or thought that they could afford a $400K house on $50k a year or less income. Not to mention $500-$600 car notes.

I'd like to be living in a 1/2 million dollar place too, if only I'd been a little dumber I could of got everyone else to pay for it.

If this box is X'ed..

What type of rate do you think it is?
With all of the predatory loan practices that have been going on, it's kind of hard to lay all the blame on the consumer.

Bush clearly stated he would Veto this bill!!! Unfortunately Veto's can be overridden by a 2/3 senate vote!!!
Actually, it takes a 2/3 House vote in addition to a 2/3 Senate vote. That's assuming the House and Senate versions are the same. At this point, they're not.

If it were that simple, we wouldn't be having this discusion.

No, it's that simple. Everyone knows what an ARM is and that the only reason you'd want one is if you can't afford the home you want to buy and are trying to get the payments down. Very similar to these new 60 and 72 month car loans - who the hell takes out a car loan for 5 or 6 years????? But people do it because they have champagne tastes and a beer budget.

And when people are greedy like that and think they're entitled to stuff they can't afford, I have no problem with them losing everything.
