The case will be referred to the Harris County grand jury without charges.

Harris County Public Health and Environmental Services Veterinary Public Health Division was called to the scene to contain four pit bulls in the back yard of the home to allow detectives to easily investigate the scene. The dogs were not taken from the home.

NRA's monthy magazine, the "National Rifleman" has a section called the "Armed Citizen". It has pieces about home invasions, attempted robberies, etc. in which people successfully protected themselves and their property with firearms.

I'm just showing you for every hypothetical event where somebody protects themself with a fire arm, I can pump out 20 or so events where people have been the victim of a gun. and no, the solution isn't to have everyone walking around strapped with heat to their thighs.

Eradicate guns completely! Why "restrict" or "ban" guns when you can destroy them? Simultaneously the government can shut down manufacturing so no new ones can be created. *POOF* no more gun violence.

Let's assume for a moment this is possible. What will the answer be once former gun-toting criminals resort to other weapons? Knives, slingshots, bow and arrows, baseball bats. Whatever works. Will they all be banned?

Two things are patently evident to me...
1) People have the right to protect themselves;
2) Our increasingly "progressive" society is creating more criminals faster than we can get rid of them. (Gee, why does that sound familiar, forest?)

If Liberals were serious about lowering crime rates they would attack the actual root causes... instead of divert, redirect, blame, whine and build strawmen.

Perhaps forest would handle it more easily if I lay the question out plainly...

Problem: Bush's war, and his foreign policy decisions in general, are creating terrorists faster than we can wipe them out.
Solution: Remove Bush; stop the war.

But when this logic is applied to the present thread/problem things are not quite as soluble.

Problem: Liberalism and "progressivism" are enabling - encouraging, even - criminal behavior, weakening our justice system and castrating Americans' sense to protect what is right and honorable.
Solution: Make America MORE Liberal.

Forestal - or any Lib - please explain. I dare ya.
