perhaps it would help if I also mentioned that my husband I want to know the sex of the baby and don't want to wait until late August to find out if there's no medical reason not to.

Have you told this to your doctor? If it's that improtant to you and your doctor still says no maybe you should consider finding a new doctor or asking for the full reason the doctor wants to wait.

yeah, I mentioned it to the doctor. that's when she offered to let us do one in her office for $50. I just kind of figured I'd look into the cost of a more elaborate/detailed one. IF the 4d ones are incredibly expensive, I'd prefer that.

If you prefer a more expensive one I think your doctor could help you out with that too. :lmao:

They call me ... Sarcasmo
The 4d ones are really cool but that is quite a price. Of course the 4d ultrasound technology came out after my son was born, (by 6 months) but we were quite happy with the regular old b/w pics.

We waited until the big day to find out the sex. It was funny hearing people say, "you're carrying low, it's a boy" or some other such nonsense.

17 wks is probably still too early even with a 4D US. The only positive way of knowing is an amnio.

What happened to the good old days when you had to wait until the baby arrived? Everything you bought or were given was rubber ducky yellow and mint green. At my sono for my son at 7 months they told me he was a girl. What a suprise in the delivery room.

:yeahthat: IMO there isn't a thing a newborn needs that must be indictive of one sex or the other, including the nursery.
