Remember the year that the fireworks started off with the Grand Finally(sp)? I don't remember if anyone was hurt but a few were embarrassed.

Oh, I do remember that. I was out on a friend's headboat watching the show and *FOOM* up it went. :lmao: :jameo:

If I remember right, some of the technicians may have gotten minor burns but fortunately no one was seriously injured. :yay:

what is everybody doing on the 4th of July, I need some suggestions on where to see fireworks.

I went to DC the last couple years, but will not be doing it this year.

Charles County fair grounds are too crowded.

Are the Calvert County fairground fireworks ok?
I'm going to Ocean City! :yahoo: :thewave:

For TWO WEEKS!!!

The OC Beach is probably a good place to go to see Fireworks :neener:

Yeah, I remember that one! And then there was the year when it was so hot and dry that the sparks kept setting off little brush fires all over Bedford Glasc0ck's pea field, and that kept a coupla fire trucks busily rushing round and about.

I'll buy a bigger chair so you can share with Tina, Woody, kids and me at OrneryPests
Well being in the middle of the week I think I will get home and stay there. Living where I do I'll get stuck in traffic for the fairgrounds if I go one way. No way I am trying to take my boat out with all them crazy people on the water. SO I figure in my book it will be another day to go home cook dinner then go to bed.

I believe for the 3rd and 4th I will be on the boat for the fireworks. I think its the best place to see the fireworks, usually we start at the beach(Chesapeake Beach) and work our way around to all the fireworks, with it being in the middle of the week, I think I have to pit stop @ Golden Beach or down in Blackistone to go to work but I think it will be fun :yay:

Do you live in Calvert? No? Then the Calvert fair grounds suck, absolutely suck, drugs, crime, you'll get raped make no mistake about it. My suggestion would be if you don't live here then just stay away, it's really for your own good.

I live in hughesville, in a $150,000 house. I pay less then 1,000 a year in property tax I send my 5 kids to calvert Schools for free, because the "live" with their grandmother. I figure I am getting $25,000 worth of free schooling a year. Calvert public schools are better then charles private schools.

so if I am doing all that, I may as well see fireworks paid for by the good citizens of Calvert.

Thor, thank you for your support!

Solomons Fireworks
July 4th @ Dusk
Solomons, MD

Come by boat or by land to enjoy this festive event in Solomons. The Solomons Business Association once again invites the citizens of Calvert County to sit back and enjoy 4th of July Fireworks over Solomons Island. This year, in response to safety and regulatory concerns, the fireworks barge will be anchored in the Patuxent River off of Drum Point instead of off the Riverwalk. Given the height of this spectacular show, people located anywhere on the island should have a good view of the fireworks. For parking and other information, visit http://www.sba.solomons.md.us/solomons-4th-of-july.html

There are dozens of people that watch the Solomons Fireworks from the end of Clarkes Landing Rd... will they still be able to see them from there??

It sounds like the new launching place is gonna be about a mile or so farther down the river and around the end of the island. I suppose most of the higher-flying stuff will probably still be visible from Crash Landing Rd, although I'm not really sure.
