Easy to suggest things people want to do, eat jelly beans or eat.......you know, but PSAs for things things people dont want, thats different.

If they reengage 55, I'll have to seriously upgrade my countermeasures suite:duel:

the reason is that the power it takes to move air increases as the speed increases, think of moving your had through water, if you move it slow its easy, but if you try to move it through as fast as you can, you feel a great deal of resistance and the energy you use to move it the same distance increases, the same applies with moving the front of a vehicle through the air, its simple physics.

Sure its simple physics. And if the speed limit was 45 or 35 or 25 you would save even more gas wouldn’t you? Arbitrarily picking a lower speed limit to help save fuel is meaningless because you can always save more fuel by choosing an even lower limit. When exactly does it become ridiculous?

When exactly does the increased time to reach a destination outweigh the increased use of fuel? For the 300 mile drive to my parents, that 10 miles per hour difference is an extra hour of driving. I wonder what is of more value to me, a few extra dollars in gas or not having to sit in my car driving for another hour?

you might want to actually take a course or something before you make a statement like this.
45? maybe depending on the automotive factors, but 35 and 25 are going to burn more gas than 55 for various reasons.
