6400 Murdered in Venezuela since 2000

Hugo Chavez is a dangerous man, moreso because of his proximity to the US and his money. His closeness to Fidel Castro makes me think ol' Hugo seeks to annex Cuba, bringing him that much closer to our border.
Not that it matters to Joe Kennedy, Sean Penn, Danny Glover, and others I can't recall who have been kissing up to El Presidente. And everyone was so quick to congratulate him on allowing democracy to triumph in December's elections.
Yeah right.
I'm willing to bet that he's doing his best to ensure he doesn't lose next time he makes his bid to become President For Life. But considering the the dollars the US spends to buy his oil accounts for something like 3/4 of their GNP, but it's just 5% of what this country consumes, it seems to me if we just cut back 5% and quit buying his oil, that'd jerk a knot in his tail.
