A good Solomons restaurant?

CD Cafe is a wonderfully quaint and tasty resturuant. You start off at the Next Door Lounge for a drink and at your own pace get a table at the resturaunt. The menu is fresh and unique - the food is always fresh and deliciuos - I have never had a bad meal there. It's also close enough to the boardwalk to go for a walk after. They have parking in the rear.

Enjoy!

If you want great seafood at a good price come north to "Captain Leonards". They have really great food and wonderful service...

If you re going to Clarkes Landing, except good food and expect to bring your check book and your credit card. Quality=cost but its soooo yummy!

Up until my last visit, I would have agreed. I got the muffin crabcake, something that is always good. This one tasted fishy. Sorry, but good crabcakes don't taste fishy.

CD Cafe does not take reservatons and can be crowded. Food is great, just you might have to wait. Not much of a view. But, the food and service are very good.

Dry Dock is excellent, they take reservations and you have a nice view. Oh, make reservations, like CD Cafe , Dry Dock is not very big and there is no real waiting area. This would be my first choice if I wanted to impress someone.

If you want nice places on this side of the river, try Cafe D Artist or Tides. Neither is going to have the view of Dry Dock but the food and service is good.

When you compare Clarke's Landing to the places above it highlights just how over priced they are. You are paying for the "water front dining experience". Food is okay, service can be so so. But for a casual environment you pay fine dining prices. Food while generally decent is not in the same class as the places above. If you go, don't sit on the enclosed porch. Either sit outside (and deal iwith the bugs) or inside.

Captain's table

My parents are coming into town soon and we usually go out for a nice dinner the first night. The last two years we went to the Solomons Pier, but I wanted something new. Any suggestions like Captian's Table, Vera's, Naughty Gull, etc.? Even right across the bridge. I just don't want to go somewhere like Outback or Ruby Tuesday, since they can eat there back home.

Any suggestions, and what do you like about it? THANKS!

We had reservations for 15 (family from different parts of the country) on a Friday evening in mid-June at the Captain's Table. Four of us went in to start and said we weren't sure when any others would be arriving as they were coming in from all directions and as far away as Ohio for dinner. We had a great time, never felt rushed or that we were bothering anyone, even other diners, and the food was great as always. They have the best Cream of Crab soup that we have found anywhere in Southern Calvert County or in St. Mary's. They also gave us samples of the soup for the out-of-towners who didn't know what some of it was. The restaurant is like many in the area, older and kind of decrepit looking but I would recommend it is everyone. It is also right on the water with great views and they have dining outside as well.:patriot:

Thanks for all the suggestions!! I think we're gonna go with Captain's Table. Clark's Landing was a close second, but with 10-11 people going to dinner (most are kids), I think CT will be the better $$ choice. Thanks again!
