This all changed due to the Flexner Report — officially known as Medical Education in the United States and Canada — in 1910. This suited Rockefeller perfectly – he then used the AMA to compel the Government to destroy the natural competition, which it did through regulating medical schools.

After the Flexner Report, the AMA only endorsed schools with a drug-based curriculum. It didn’t take long before non-allopathic schools fell by the wayside due to lack of funding and fear mongering/smear campaigns against natural remedies.

The result is a system which churns out doctors who are deficient in nutritional, herbal, and homeopathic knowledge and who disregard the idea that what you eat can actually heal or hurt you.

While physicians encourage patients to make healthy food choices, only 27 percent of U.S. medical schools actually offer students the recommended 25 hours of nutritional training, according to a perspective piece in the July 2015 issue of Academic Medicine. The word “nutrition” is not included in board examination requirements for internal medicine certification, and cardiology fellows do not need to complete a single requirement in nutrition counseling.”

Osteopathic medicine treats the body holistically; that is, in its entirety, and not just symptomatically, as is the case in traditional western medicine. They still tend to adhere to the framework of western medicine, including surgery and treatment with medications. In other words, they're still beneficial to the pharmaceutical bottom line.

They are indeed still a thing. I cooked collards about a month ago and they turned out delicious. Unfortunately, I didn't know when to stop and ate about a pint before I knew it. The next day I lost 10 pounds before I finished my morning coffee.

Dr. Oz's healing and therapeutic beliefs isn't why I don't like him - I'm a big fan of holistic medicine and alternatives to Big Pharma and the medical industrial complex. I think it's just the whole Oprah thing that makes me curl my lip at him. Plus he looks creepy, and he comes across as a huckster, even though I agree with a lot of his health opinions.

I do remember how supposedly he was promoting scam weight loss products, then it turned out he wasn't doing that at all - it was weight loss scammers quoting him to sell their crap and he had nothing to do with it. And I remember Claire McCaskill saying it was his fault anyway because if he didn't say those things, bad guys wouldn't be able to quote him. Something like that :crazy:

It's interesting that the Commie hippies on the Left were all about holistic healing and anti Pharma....right up until the second the overlords decided Dr. Oz was a quack. Now they're all, "Take your pills like the doctors say!" So that's pretty hilarious. Watching the Left chase their own tails is always entertaining.

He was quite vocal against conversion therapy for gays, which was considered a good thing by the Left....until now apparently.

So it must be Trump because Oz was tailor made to appeal to the Democrats. He's even a Muslim. But Trump endorsed him so the broken sociopaths on the Left whipped a U-ie.

"RAAAAHR! Convert those gays! Take your pills! Be a fat ass! Vegetables suck!"

They're like toddlers or teenagers - mindlessly contrary.
