A Time To Kill....Update

I put Ortho Ant B Gon baits out and the ants showed minor interest over the course of about a week. They were the only thing Target had and I wanted to try anything.

Bought Terro Liquid Ant Baits at Lowes and put it out last night. Tonight there is an ant conga line about three feet long and there must be at least 50 ants inside the thing at any one time feeding.

Nah, they take it back to the collective and poison the others so that the whole colony dies.

I've found that putting the lawn insect control powder adound the foundation of my house does better than any of the bait/traps I've tried.

:yeahthat: A line of boric acid around the perimeter of the house does the trick around these parts.

Can't they tunnel under that? I'm pretty sure that's what they did when I lived in the Greens.

I'm sure they could but it sure keeps the congo line out of our place. Of couse, you'd want to replace the line every great once in a while due to weathering.

Excellent advice, and very timely! As of a day or so ago, I have my first-ever ant problem here in my office. Thanks!

Try using a small amount of honey, placed away from where the ants are. Honey is hundreds of time sweeter than sugar, and the ants will be drawn to it, and away from your home or car.

Won't the honey just make them stronger? I'd rather kill them.

Ortho Ant B Gon; Ants =
Honey; Ants = :jet: then :boxing:
Terro Liquid Ant Baits; Ants = :jet: then :dead:

The idea being that the honey gets them out/away from the area you are having infestation problems with.
After they have vacated, then you can put down the ant-be-gone or what ever you want to put down to control/contain/kill them.
