Abortion

Lots of them, I'm sure. Both of my kids were "accidents" but it never occurred to me to abort either of them.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. Women either want to abort their children or they don't. Women who *do* want to abort their children probably should.

Agreed.
I was mostly just talking to talk
It is just so amazing to me though that "life", from the time you're a sperm/egg, to the time you actually die, can so easily end with just a slight change in how things happen. I know I could have very easily died a couple of times because of stupid or random events. Crazy when you think about it...especially when the outcome isn't in your hands. :jameo:

Spot on! I think many folks are quick to assume all or most unplanned pregnancies = choose to abort.

I disagree. In some regions that might be a quick assumption...but after living here for just over a year I've quickly learned that's not the case. Never seen so many young single women that are pregnant or have a little child in my life...and I'm from a large area!

yeah. the more startling part is when u find out that a chick u were sleeping with wasn't actually on the pill and was trying to get u to knock her up. it's amazing how often that happens. people are disturbing.

Hey, whose problem is that?

You are responsible for who you put your wiener into. Wear a condom, which you should be doing anyway.

I do hope you feel better after expressing yourself. We can go back and forth forever on the subject as you know as well as I do it is a hot button issue. That's what nice about being American is we are entitled to our differences. I will not further exchange with you on this subject and I'm sorry that your words have already sparked people on this forum to make snide comments. Notice I have not. I will say however that the family member with epilespy, well she did have to have an abortion early on or she and her unborn could have died, this was extremely difficult for her. Her doctors changed her medication and she eventually did have a sucessfull pregnancy and a beautiful child. Doctors told her to stop there, and be thankful for one child as due to her epilepsy and the medication, future pregnancies would be extremely high risk. Point I'm making here and my last point is that she was an adult in her mid 30's, had her disease since birth and was on major medications her entire life....this is why her abortion was necessary. Thanks for the debate!

I have epilepsy. Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy. I take Depakote which can cause spinal defects in any child I might carry, therefore I take Folic Acid to decrease the chances. I've been pregnant. I became pregnant while on Depakote, and eventually changed meds. I did not abort because it was not necessary in any way, shape, or form. I eventually miscarried. I believe it miscarried because my body could tell the embryo wasn't going to make it.

I'm completely pro-choice, however I would NEVER abort my own child. Just my personal opinion.

Oh I don't disagree. I was merely making a comment on something I've seen in the past. I had one chick give me a crappy easy-break condom once. Can't trust women with these sorts of things. :nono:

How about a little personal responsibility?

First thank you for making your comment, maybe that other forum person won't think I'm a complete idiot. Sorry for your miscarriage, you were fortunate not to have to go the other direction. Keep in mind this event I'm talking about was 30 years ago and technology and medicine has come so far since then. It really is sad when I think about what extremely strong meds she had to take her entire life and even though to help her, the damage they did to her physically was very sad to me. This person passed away of breast cancer 8 years ago and it was my sister, my only sibling.
Thanks again for adding to this subject, I do respect others opinions.
