Compressors, in general, are warranted for a long time but only about a year for labor. Your refrigerator, TV and most appliances are the same way with parts/labor but with an even shorter labor warranty, typically 30 days.

After checking other companies this morning I found $575 is about right. Some estimates were as high as $800. I'm in the wrong business.
