You still would have to deal with product activation for the versions that the school sells, right?

Anyways, if you still haven't bought Adobe Acrobat, you might want to check out CutePDF.

You can also use the snapshot tool. It looks like a camera on your toolbar.
Select the area you want copied and it places it on your clipboard.

It comes right on the cd's they give ya. Unfortunatly every student may only purchase one copy of each software.

But Microsoft licenses are for 10 PC's.. So one copy, that you can install on 10 different computers.

I've still got my copy of Win XP and Office from Pitt (Actually was Pitt of Tit).. well not PHYSICALLY have them, my son has them so he can re-do his mom's computer.
