Adopting a dog

My Sweetest Boy
She was just responding to her question about whether they could just take Rassie. I read it wrong the first time, also, then realized she was responding to her own post about us not being able to give her Rassie. Chill, Catt.

You're late...I already replied. I'm fine...she's fine..but her husband sounds odd.

I've "adopted" two Shih tzus, one for my Mother and one for My Sister from a breeder who had 1-2 year old dogs that hadn't sold as puppies and that she wasn't going to use for breeding. They were the sweetest things and had been well loved, but she just had too many dogs to care for.

Baby and Daisy now have excellent homes. The one stipulation was that they be spayed, which of course we were happy to do.

You might want to call some "good" breeders and see if they have any older puppies that they might want to send to good homes.

I would hate to take her back to the shelter. I think they would work with re-homing her with a good home if that need ever arose and I believe they would work with me if I found her a good home. CAWL is great, SMAWL just throws up so many barriers, it's impossible to work with them. The Well Pet Clinic has a monthly thing with animals to adopt and they are easy to work with. We just ended up with an awesome dog, thanks to Catt.

I got one of my dogs from SMAWL and other than the intial visit (which was not a big deal), they were OK to work with.
