Boo and Sadie the senior Rottweiler ladies are still looking for a loving home. The only thing they want as well as their rescuers is a comfortable, loving home, with people that have the time to spend with them. They don't require much, they are easy going, they like to take leisurely walks and they even will learn to enjoy your favorite TV show (even if it's American Idol...). One of their favorite pasttimes is going for a ride with their person, if you like to take a evening drive for a nice cold ice cream cone, these lovely ladies would love to join you! Please visit their Petfinder page at http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=8532669

Herb is a 10+ year old black lab, he found himself at the local kill shelter and no one could overlook his thin frame and grey hairs on his muzzle. Had they looked past that they'd have found a fine senior man that still has plenty of love to give to someone special. He's even endured heartworm treatment this past year and really deserves a home of his own. Please see Herb's petfinder page at: http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=7700082

These senior dogs are current on their shots and are as healthy as they can be for their age, the only thing they are missing is a special person, or person's to love them and cherish them for what time they have left. If you have never opened your heart and home to a senior pet you have never experienced the special love and bond they have to offer.
Adoption fees will be waived for qualified adopters. Please contact Kathy at 301-904-0653 or katmc@secondhoperescue.org to meet these wonderful seniors!

Thanks for the red but I think that your simple ignorant mind misunderstood the question. People used to own pets now it's an adoption process. I was wondering when the PC police got involved and changed it.

It's been an "adoption" process for a number of years. I would suppose ever since groups started trying to rehome neglected and abused animals, along with saving the one's from the shelters.

There is a different mindset when one "adopts" rather than "buys". When you adopt an animal you are agreeing to give it a better home than it came from and promising to keep it forever, or return it to the group you got it from. I think when you "buy" something the mindset is it's "yours" to do whatever you want with it.

If I buy it or you give it to me and it breaks or I lose it, oh well, now if you loan it to me, or I "borrow it indefinitely" I should be more responsible for it.

I guess, I don't know exactly, but it's been this way for years and it works.
