Call Barbara @ Gentle Touch Dog Grooming, 301-373-3766, on Jones Wharf Road in Hollywood. She does our toy poodle @ $35.

what area are you in, i have a great groomer for you in huntingtown

Who is the person in Huntingtown? I live in Owings and we have been looking for someone for our two dogs. (A labradoodle who rolls in everything and a lab who just really needs a good brushing about once a month or else she sheds in these huge clumps!) Thanks! :howdy:

everyone one i talked to said stay away from petco as they really don't care if the dogs are vaccinated they only care if htey had a rabies shot and that is it. They also don't know how to treat animals either.

I had them done there twice. First time they looked great, the second time they looked OK.......and it was an all day drop off which I really didn't like.

I've called this place a bunch of time and left a couple of messages. And I never hear anything back from them. They are close to where I live and I was inquiring about getting my dog groomed but I was never able to speak with someone.

I know the owner and they are busy putting up a fence, etc. (that isn't an excuse) but PM me with your phone number and I'll take care of it.

grooming

I think it stresses the dogs out 'way too much to be in a grooming shop all day. I only keep them about two hours. It's something you need to ask when you are making an appointment. You should also ask how long they've been grooming, prices, and what that price includes. What kind of shampoo they use. Also if they blow dry or crate dry the dogs. I don't crate dry my dogs, they don't go in a crate until they are done. I'd also ask how many dogs they have in the shop at a time, a nervous or older dog can get very upset with alot of barking dogs around.
Sometimes it takes a bit for us smaller businesses to call you back. Remember I am the receptionist, groomer, bookeeper, landscaper, maitainence person. If I'm busy with a dog I don't answer the phone. Doesn't mean I'm not here, just busy. I will call you back. I'm sure there are other small places are like this too. That being said I now have to go to work. Have a nice day.

Yes Spinner is correct I have had some peeps tell me some of the other shops keep their dogs for 8+ hours..I have more in the shop at a time then Spinner and some get out in 1 hr some 2 and some more..but NEVER all day.. but I have help. Spinner is alone..I send Spinner anyone that wants a scissor job and Spinner sends me her cat and large dog calls...Thanks Spinner..need to call you soon..Have a nice day..

PS Yorkies are nervous little nellies too and the busy noisy shop can scare them...
