I have decent insurance along with supplemental AFLAC. AFLAC reimburses me for all of my out-of-pocket expenses, ie co-pays, prescriptions, over the counter medicines, eye exams, dental, etc. Basically how it works is I set a total amount to be deducted based on past annual out of pocket expenses, ie $300. It gets taken out pre-tax, just like my health insurance. I go to the doctor or wherever, save my receipts, submit a copy to AFLAC and they send me my money. The best thing is I never pay taxes on this money, and I can still claim the expenses at the end of the year with the IRS.
