Anyone know what the age is for a kid to stay home by themselves? Not sure where to look it up, checked MD Law but I'm not coming up w/ anything except abuse/neglect cases...Thanks for any info!!!
I'd give them until 18, then they gotta get the #### out.

I started making dinner for the whole family when I was 14. My mom would leave a note on what to cook so dinner would be ready when my parents got home from work.

:yeahthat: If I wasn't cooking at that age, I wasn't going to eat!

:high5: They let me use the big scary french fry fryer at Hardee's when I turned 16.

Well, a 14 yr. old girl verses a 14 yr. old boy, I think I would trust the girl every time! Lets face it, girls are more mature, more responsible and just plain smarter at that age. Not to mention, they don't think with their :gossip: :jet:

Age limit to stay at ho... 08-07-2007 02:16 PM Do you leave them unattended while you go out drinking? What kind of mother are you?

:nono: I don't drink, but I do like to have a nice quiet dinner occasionally, and I find myself to be a pretty darn good mom if I don't say so myself!

When I was 14, if I wanted to eat, I cooked. I wasn't waiting 3+ hours for mom to get home after school and then get around to it- I'd have wasted away by then. Hell, by 6 or 7 I was using the nuker for sausage links and hot dogs.

I wonder if they can prove in the court of law that a 47 yr old acts enough to be considered a 7 yr old, and therefore should not be allowed to stay home alone?

I didn't read this entire thread (about to go play Literati) but to answer the question.

Lugnut is correct, no one under 13 can watch anyone under 8 meaning 13y/o can babysit free and clear. No one under 8 can stay at home alone and 8y/o can only stay at home alone up to 90mins preferrably during light hours. :flowers:
