Salvation is More Than Being Saved -Hyles
Chronological and Background Charts of Church History -Walton

These look interesting.... When will you be in town again??
Not sure when I'll be in town again.

If you don't know about Jack Hyles, you should do some investigating on him. He used to run a pretty large Independent Fundy Baptist Church/College in Hammond Indiana. Pretty much a cult following. I'll have to see if I can find my files on "The Wizard of God" by Vic N. Former member of that church.

The Church History book, I picked up when I was in London at Charles Spurgeon's old Church.

The Kindom of the Cults is a very interesting book, but it's thick like a dictionary. Not sure if I want to part with that one, but would be willing to let you borrow it. If you don't want to buy any of them, let me know and you could still borrow.

I'm sure we could work out me shipping you the books.

But why do you want to? I don't believe in Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy or God, for that matter, and I have no real compulsion to post about them and try to disprove their existence to those who believe.

I don't see the problem if atheists like Supersurfer post here to defend their own beliefs and to explain why they believe what they believe. But I do see a problem if some of them have an agenda to convert others to atheism, or if some of them call religious people stupid and ignorant. I think there is room in the Religion section for reasoned, mature discussions about atheism.

Nah, I trust you. Which of these books gave you such a critical view of Jesus Christ?
It's not a simple as putting into one post. I've been slowly adding to my story for about the past year. Haven't written anything since around Christmas time.

The arguments and evidence against God outweighed anything supporting one.

I guess it's all said in your signature:"It is the Atheist who wills himself to use reason. The Atheist seeks what is true and fights against his own selfish desires to live in a fantasy paradise. "
The urge to fantasize is strong and hard to subdue.

There are about a dozen or more Books across the room that I don't feel like getting up to see, and these are only the ones that I own, I have read and studied many more. One was a really good book on Calvinism, but I forget who wrote it or the title.

On top of this I spent many years on Christian forums, debating Christian Doctine, and ending up debating Atheism. I really wish that I could find time to do that here.

I just think that it's funny, how much I've studied Christianity, I was a believer, compared to how little I have studied Science and Truth.

If you see any books in the list that you want, I may be willing to part with them for the right price.

2 Timothy 3:1-9

1But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.

2For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,

3unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,

4treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

5holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these.

6For among them are those who enter into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses,

7always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

8Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, rejected in regard to the faith.

9But they will not make further progress; for their folly will be obvious to all, just as Jannes's and Jambres's folly was also.

FYIThe reason 2A uses the "QUOTES" on his post is so he can quote others but no one can quote him. FYI.

Two points for your consideration:

Firstly: It's extraordinaire. Adding it to the end of your moniker is supposed to imply that you are extraordinary, remarkable, or otherwise exemplary or special. Nobody will argue that you are indeed 'special'. But a word to the wise: If you're going to repeatedly use a word in a headline you should know what it means and how its spelled.

Also, Christians often quote the bible. I've been known to do so myself from time to time. YOU often do it your own extraordinary self - even if you do so out of context and in order to push your political agenda. If you're going to slam someone for their behavior, it might be a good idea to not engage in the same behavior. Otherwise it makes you look hypocritical and like a two-hump chump.

I use quotes so that those that read my posts can see the source of my reasoning.

You have no reasoning, so no matter what you do, quote, not quote, you still come off as stupid.

Of course, it's silly to be educated. Let's just go through life with dumb, blind faith. Silly old man.

Nothing about my faith is blind.

There is nothing wrong with education. There is something wrong with seeking and seeking and never opening your eyes to see or find. Then, maybe you are one of the blinded ones. If so, sorry.

Seems by what you have read that you have been seeking answers but not finding them. Reading all the books in the world will not provide answers, not even one. Putting into action what you read will.

I am reading about producing DVDs. I can read every book on the subject. Until I actually produce a DVD, all the reading is worthless. It has not been put into practice.

You have it very wrong, I wasn't studing the books to seek God. I was seeking apologetic answers to help defend the faith, but they came up wanting.

You're faith is blind, you just can't see it. :lmao:

I must tell you that this statement is NOT true. I will not belittle you or drag this point on, but most people who are "genuinely" searching for truth find Him. Those searching to disprove Him also find Him. Those who want to believe that He doesn't exist, usually do. I hope you have a moment in your life when you listen to His voice because He is speaking to you and He wants you back.:howdy:

I wished I believed in an afterlife just so I could come back and say "told you so."

That was a joke.
