Air America Host Randi Rhodes Suspended For Calling Hillary A "Big F*cking Whore"

"Air America host Randi Rhodes called both Geraldine Ferraro and Hillary Clinton "whores" in a recent appearance, seen below. Rhodes, who hosts a weekday radio show on Air America, said to the cheering crowd, "What a whore Geraldine Ferraro is! She's such a ####ing whore!"

She then proceeded to say, "Hillary is a big ####ing whore, too" to a mixed audience reaction. "You know why she's a big ####ing whore? Because her deal is always, 'Read the fine print, #######!

Air America released the following statement:

Air America has suspended on-air host Randi Rhodes for making inappropriate statements about prominent figures, including Senator Hillary Clinton, at a recent public appearance on behalf of Air America in San Francisco which was sponsored by an Air America affiliate station.


"Air America encourages strong opinions about public affairs but does not condone such abusive, ad hominem language by our Hosts," said chair Charlie Kireker."

She has always been extreme...When we lived outside Los Angeles I used to listen to her/Air America on my way home from work. Her voice is really annoying, however I like to listen to what both sides are saying. I have said before that I am pretty liberal (guns and death penalty aside), however even she gets on my nerves.

You must not listen to her show - it's on 1500AM (can't remember the station call) and I catch it periodically. She says worse than that on the air about Republicans every day. She doesn't use the f-word, but some of the things she goes off on are just crazy.

That's what so funny about her getting suspended - the hypocrisy of it. If the program owner said that she was suspended for saying those things about Democrats, that would be the truth. But they're trying to play high and mighty, like they have some standards.

I have listened to her on XM before. I can usually tolerate about 20 minutes. She is huge on conspiracy theories and calling Bush "chimp" a lot but I had never heard her go to the "whore" level.

She IS an extreme anti-Republican. But I've never heard her use that kind of language on her show. I don't agree with lots of what she says, but she usually has a ton of facts to back up the basis of her opinions. She is also an Air Force vet. She's a bit too over-the-top for me, though.

I like to listen to Air America sometimes to get the perspective on current issues from the other side, but I prefer to listen to Rachel Maddow. She is not such a firebrand (although she hates Republicans, also) and she throws some humor into her show.
