I think they are recommended by doctors, that way they can make money when you are injured by one of those dangerous air bags.

Im sorry, I answered before reading all of the posts.
I put down that they were not safe, but after realizing that you were talking about protection devices used in the automotive industry, and not in fact my mother in law and those that strive to be like her.
my answer should have been yes, they are safe.
