Wasn't there an incident here years ago when the plane went down and they found the pilot hanging in a tree? I can't even remember when - I might have been stationed here at the time.

That was by the Regional Airport if I remember correctly. Hit the wires by 235, plane got snared, and it dangled from the wires.

I happened to be driving by about the time they had gotten the pilot down but plane was still up in the trees. Quite a sight.

Probably a chip warning, metal detected in the engine/gearbox fluid. Land now before you crash.

Back in the late 80s or early 90s there a NG Helo did an emergency landing on corn field on Chaptico-Mechanicsville Road.

I don't remember how far back, late 90's or early 2000's. H-60 did a hard landing by Leonardtown HS.

There are a few WCAs that will be "Land Immediately or ASAP".
Chip detector is a big one. Hydraulic leak, over temp.
Don't want to risk life and property (a/c) unless it's absolutely necessary.

I was thinking about the hard landing, another H-60.
