That was by the Regional Airport if I remember correctly. Hit the wires by 235, plane got snared, and it dangled from the wires.

I happened to be driving by about the time they had gotten the pilot down but plane was still up in the trees. Quite a sight.

Back in the late 80s or early 90s there a NG Helo did an emergency landing on corn field on Chaptico-Mechanicsville Road.

There are a few WCAs that will be "Land Immediately or ASAP".
Chip detector is a big one. Hydraulic leak, over temp.
Don't want to risk life and property (a/c) unless it's absolutely necessary.

Not the H-60, no. As I recall it was a hard landing, no deaths but one or more of the crew was injured. Funny how you spine doesn't like getting slammed straight down into the ground.

I just saw the link (above) and now I recall that one.
I was thinking about the hard landing, another H-60.
The helicopter pictured in today's story is NOT an H-60
