There's another side to Alicia Keys: conspiracy theorist. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter tells Blender magazine: "`Gangsta rap' was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other. `Gangsta rap' didn't exist."
Keys, 27, said she's read several Black Panther autobiographies and wears a gold AK-47 pendant around her neck "to symbolize strength, power and killing 'em dead," according to an interview in the magazine's May issue, on newsstands Tuesday.
Another of her theories: That the bicoastal feud between slain rappers Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. was fueled "by the government and the media, to stop another great black leader from existing."

I think she needs a history lesson. Maybe she should talk to Tupac or BIG-E (sp) oh wait she cant because they are dead from a turf war between the East Cost and West Coast gansta rap. ICE-T should set her down and give her a history lesson.

Wow, that's interesting.

I got a kick out of her attire on American Idol when she went on a trip to Africa for "Idol Gives Back". She was all made up with her bling bling, visiting these terribly sick and poor countries. God forbid she goes without her jewelry. Geesh.

Ironic isn't it? When these celeb's do the "walk of heartbreak" through a village of starving poor people wearing enough bling to feed the entire village for a year. :roflmao:

Goes to show how ignorant they really are to the problems going on- I bet the majority go because it is good PR, not because their little hearts ache with a desire to help.

Gotta say....I'm not sure I believe him. He may be backing away from it publicly because his audience may not support it, but ....he and Jada certainly "appear" (I use this word because all I see is publicity, not their real lives) to be associating deeply with Scientologists.

If so, it's one of the government's biggest failures. They sure didn't get rid of many of them.

Supposedly Tupac's real daddy was Malcom X. If you are interested, Tupac's bio is pretty interesting.

He was shot five times and robbed in the lobby of a recording studio in New York City. Following the event, Shakur grew suspicious that other figures in the rap industry had prior knowledge of the incident and did not warn him; the controversy helped spark the East Coast-West Coast hip hop rivalry. After serving eleven months of his sentence for sexual abuse, Shakur was released from prison on an appeal financed by Marion "Suge" Knight, the CEO of Death Row Records. In exchange for Knight's assistance, Shakur agreed to release three albums under the Death Row label. Shakur's fifth album, the first double-disc release in hip hop history All Eyez on Me, was counted as two albums.

On September 7, 1996, Shakur was shot four times in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, and died six days later of respiratory failure and cardiac arrest at the University Medical Center
