Popeyes about the best fast food chicken. Sandwich was pretty tasty. Dont know that it's better than CFA, but different and just as tasty in a different way. Stabbing worthy, nope.

Their quality had been hit-or-miss 1-2 years. Times past it was so salty we could barely eat it. Fortunately the last batch we had was back to being the best fried chicken in SMC.

Whenever I type about Chaptico chickie my fingers want to change "fried chicken" to "friend chicken". Can that possibly be just an accident?

I've experienced that too. Good news was I had a piece Saturday evening (made for a special occasion), and it was back to its high quality from when he had his place on the back street in Leonardtown.

We wanted to think it was possibly a new employee that screwed up the mix and not a permanent change to the recipe.

The last time the wife and I dropped in, we had to turn around and walk out. We were driving back from VA and thought we'd pick up some dinner. They were SLAMMED. The phone-in orders were taking up so much of the kitchen's effort, they couldn't keep the serving trays filled for the walk-ins.

I usually place my order online and choose my pick up time about 1/2 hour after leaving work. I've never had to wait inline.
