I don't care what anyone says, I love it. There's nothing better for a cheeseburger or grilled cheese sandwich or scrambled eggs. I don't eat mac & cheese, but Velveeta is what you're supposed to use, not some fancy cheese.

I will die on that hill :war:

All I can say is calling that yellow orange gelatinous slime cheese is akin to calling David Hogg masculine. I love good cheese and sadly we Americans are woefully inept at cheesemaking. That said the American stuff really is good on a burger, tuna sammich, BLT, and other American foods as long as it is "cheese" and not "cheese food product". And only Cheez Whiz belongs on a Philly Cheesesteak!

Change my mind.

I went through this argument with my fiancé not too long ago. To her, real cheese isn't individually wrapped, but when it comes to a sandwich, hot or cold, I'm happy with any of it. Trying to convince her to try reduced fat cheese is another sticking point. I consider cheese a condiment, nothing more. To her it makes or breaks whatever it is we're eating.

Only thing I use American singles on is grilled cheese or grilled ham and cheese.

I could not care less if macaroni and cheese ceased to exist.

A good baked mac & cheese is to die for. Lots of real, fresh shredded cheddar, preferably with chunks of ham.

I'll eat those leftovers until they're gone.

Try replacing half of the extra sharp cheddar with pepper jack. Adds a nice spice bite to the M&C.

I won't go THAT far, but I can take it or leave it. Too many other things to waste my carb and fat calories on that are WAY better tasting.
I'm a bad Italian and don't care for pasta, been that way my whole life. I do love some good lasagna and pick through the pasta. My ex was Greek and made a dish that was mostly pasta. I tried it to be polite, he never made it again for me. My godparents house always smelled like Kraft mac n cheese. Yuk! My god sisters had milk allergies, so they got juice in their cereal, so I never figured that out.

Just sneakin' around....
"American cheese" was specifically designed to be the way it is. It has a flavor and melt quality you won't find in any other cheese or cheese product. It was specifically made for burgers and toasted cheese.

Couldn't have a good breakfast sandwich without it.

Untrue. There are a ton of creameries in the US turning out amazing cheese. Milton Creamery in Iowa makes my current favorite, Prairie Breeze. It's an aged cheddar with crunch to accent the creaminess. You don't even want to sully it with crackers.
