I went to elementary school in Rhode Island. French and Spanish were electives. I took both. I also took violin lessons. (I wasn't very good at it). When I moved here in middle school only Spanish was an elective. I took it for 3 years and then Mr. Perez was killed in a car accident. I was so sad I couldn't continue with it. BTW, French is SO much harder than Spanish. Beautiful language though.

I took Spanish for two years in middle school in California. Maybe my freshman year too. One friend took German. That's hard! I agree that French is a beautiful language. My sister and I made it through our European vacation with tiny phrase dictionaries. German, French and Italian.

Now I remember words and some phrases in both languages. I couldn't carry on a conversation in French anymore. Spanish, I have survivor skills, lol.

Same! Enough Spanish to ask for the bano and cervesa! And tu es loco in tu cabeza! 😂

I was in Hawaii 9 years ago and a couple were having an argument in Spanish on their balcony. I hollered out, VAMOS A LA PLAYA! Silence. 😂😂😂

If I was in charge of "Super Mega Corp" I would be careful about returning to the US due to the changing nature of things depending on who is in office. They could spend billions building manufacturing infrastructure only to have the rug pulled out from under them by President AOC.

We had French, Latin, German and Spanish. German was the hardest because the rest had similar root words

If I really wanted to learn Spanish, I would go into the roofing business or the landscaping business.
Hiring the help and instructing them to put 4 nails in each shingle or how to wait until 9 Am before running the leaf blower, you would be forced to learn Spanish or go out of business.
