Americans Need To Know

Americans in general don't realize that having machines count our votes is very, very dangerous to our democracy. For the first time in history, corruption, (which we have always had) can be centrally controlled. This can be done easily and undetectably because of techology. What follows shows how and why:

18 Amazing Facts About Voting in the USA
Did you know....? (Comments below.)
1. 80% of all votes in America are counted by only two companies: Diebold and ES&S.

2. There is no federal agency with regulatory authority or oversight of the U.S. voting machine industry.

3. The vice-president of Diebold and the president of ES&S are brothers.

4. The chairman and CEO of Diebold is a major Bush campaign organizer and donor who wrote in 2003 that he was “committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president next year.”

5. Republican Senator Chuck Hagel used to be chairman of ES&S. He became Senator in a surprise upset, with votes counted by ES&S machines. http://www.motherjones.com/commentary/columns/2004/03/03_200.html

8. Kenneth Blackwell co-chaired George Bush’s Ohio election campaign. As Ohio secretary of state, he left no stone unturned to suppress the democratic vote.

9. Diebold’s new touch screen voting machines have no paper trail of any votes. In other words, there is no way to verify that the data coming out of the machine is the same as what was legitimately put in by voters.

10. Diebold also makes ATMs, checkout scanners, and ticket machines, all of which log each transaction and can generate a paper trail.

11. Exit polls are usually excellent predictors of election results. Reputable analyses could not find and explanation of the discrepancy between exit polls and results of the 2004 presidential election.

12. A Diebold subsidiary employed 5 convicted felons as senior managers and developers. These people helped write the central compiler computer code that counted 50% of the votes in 30 states.

Comments:

Were American’s votes were deliberately miscounted?

If this was done, it means, quite literally, that we are no longer living in a democracy.

When I read the list a few days ago, some of the allegations just seemed too preposterous to believe. Like:

“Jeff Dean, senior programmer on Diebold’s central compiler code...served jail time for planting back doors in his client’s accounting software and using a ‘high degree of sophistication’ to evade detection over a period of 2 years.”

I tracked down the author of the list, who graciously responded with a list of references for each allegation. I checked out this Jeff Dean thing in particular. It didn’t take long to get to this:

According to the findings of fact in case no. 89-1-04034-1 (Washington State): “...Defendant’s thefts occurred over a 2 ½ year period of time, there were multiple incidents, more than the standard range can account for, the actual monetary loss was substantially greater than typical for the offense, the crimes and their cover-up involved a high degree of sophistication and planning in the use and alteration of records in the computerized accounting system that defendant maintained for the victim, and the defendant used his position of trust and fiduciary responsibility as a computer systems and accounting consultant for the victim to facilitate the commission of the offenses.”

Another one of the references led to a detailed account of the double database technique pioneered by Mr. Dean to enable electronically tabulated votes give a false total while still presenting accurate details in case of spot audits.

In combination with the constellation of undisputed circumstantial evidence and open conflicts of interest, these last details are just too damning to ignore.

A cloud over the validity of the American electoral process is not acceptable.

Please join me in calling for:

1) A full investigation of election irregularities

2) Measures to ensure that ballots cannot easily be miscounted, and can be recounted

Of course, in days *PAST*, when it was done on little scraps of paper and on mechanical booths with dials that could be reset to anything, and you could be confronted with a "poll tax" or "literacy test" - it was MORE Democratic.

Of course, in days of old, when there STILL was no central authority running elections, when the dead voted, and there was virtually no challenge of identity at the polls, things were MORE Democratic.

Yeah, right.

I do agree that there are issues with voting, but I don't think the machines are the problem. We need some real voting reform legislation to include voter registration (3rd parties should not be allowed to collect registrations), voter identification (should be required), and better clarity in the rules for provisional and absentee ballots.

Demoncrats believe, like they did in Washington state, that if they whine long enough, and sue in every court, that sooner or later the office will ba handed to them..

Washington State the Demoncrats sued THREE times for recounts, they lost the first TWO, but after the third they got the results they wanted.. figure if you count something enough times, sooner or later you are going to get the results you want.. NOW they have a Demoncrat for a Governor.. even though the republican got the best of three
TWICE they've tried to do the same thing with the Presidential office.. footage from the house and senate last night on CNN.. do they have a CLUE how stupid they look??

If they can't get elected, they'll just try to steal it instead..

Prince Albert :headupazz: showed the way in 2000 in Florida. If you continue to recount and don't get the result you want, you have to change the rules your way each time. That's why we now have 'Hanging Chads' in the vocabulary. :blahblah:

Even with inventing new and novel definitions for "vote" the Democrats never won in Florida. But to this day they continue to shout that Bush won by only 500 votes in Florida. In fact, he won by several thousand votes in Florida. He won by 500 votes in three heavily Democratic counties in Florida (the only ones the Democrats would do recounts in.)

The sky is falling!!!

Funny how Democrats didn't give one hoot about Kennedy stealing the election in 1960, with mob help no less.

Wait, that's not 'centralized'. I see. That's better!

Funny how Democrats don't give a hoot about Democratic precincts that showed 80 and 90% voter turnout in 2000 and 2004 when the national average has been 55-65%.

Maybe the real fear is that these precincts won't be able to cheat in the future and we'll find that there actually is only six Democrats in the whole nation. A very busy six on election day to be sure but only 6 none the less.

Hmmm?

Actually, I think this is the biggest failing of our election system. Voter turnout in this country is embarassing.

How can you call it...

...a failing of the system?

We have the right to vote and are free to pizz it away.

Frankly, I'm happy that people who don't care to learn enough about the issues choose not to vote. Especially as easy as it is today.
