Amish Grocery Store in Leonardtown Area???

Yesterday on my quest for country goodies, I met a very nice woman named Shelby who owns a gallery and a custom framing shop in Leonardtown. Shelby told me about some great places to shop and visit and she mentioned an Amish grocery store that apparently isn't very well known.

I believe that she told me that it's off of Maypole Road somewhere ... then something about Dove Cove Point, or Dove Cove Road, or Cove Point Road??? I wish that I remembered the name and location ... but I can't remember it for the life of me.

Anyone else know what/where I'm talking about???????

I have heard about an Amish grocery place. Apparantly their stuff is dinged up and mashed up and can't be sold at regular stores.

You may be able to get preserves and baked goods, fresh vegetables and fruits in the summer, but that's about it.
They have a place on 5 in Loveville on the right hand side going south but I don't know if they're even open this time of year, I haven't stopped by there since Christmas.

There's a Mennonite couple Marvin and Deborah Martin that operate a store open to the public M-Sat. They are on Dove Point Rd.:Take Maypole Rd. from Leonardtown to Friendship School Rd., turn L. Dove Point Rd. is the lane for thier farm on the L after a mile or so. There are groceries, some produce and dairy. A lot of the canned goods are dented but not too bad. They buy from a wholesaler in PA who delivers to them once a week. You can get some amazing deals but it's like any other place that sells discounted stuff you have to be careful.

I love that place, you can always find what the new stores have forgot about. Also never know what you will find

There is also an Amish Grocery Store on Route 6. If you are headed towards La Plata, about 2 miles in from Route 5 take a left onto Glock Road which is a dirt road. Once you get to the red barn hang a right and keep going down the lane and you'll get to Rachel's (also known as Pineview Store). Same as the store you are talking about. Kind of dinged up stuff but great deals and lots of bulk baking goods. Closed on Tuesdays and Sundays too!

She took me next door to the craft store which was under renovation so that I could see what kind of goodies they're going to sell too. It was so nice to meet someone so friendly who was willing to share some of St. Mary's secrets.
