Amish made furniture?

Does anyone know where I can buy Amish made furniture directly from the Amish? I know there are furniture stores that sell them like the new store on 235 near the Wildewood shopping center but is there any Amish run places?

Whatever you do do NOT buy from the place in the Wildewood shopping center unless you are picking it up then and there. I know someone who ordered something and waited over 6 months. They finally gave her a refund but the check BOUNCED!

I've seen a sign at the end of one of their driveways but I can't remember where:ohwell:

I'm sure if you go to the Amish produce store in Loveville they can tell you where to go:wink:

Head to NW Pennsylvania.. they have their own lumberyards and build the furniture in their barns out back.. GREAT furniture and if you are buying two or three pieces well worth the trip.

If I can recollect the name of the town will post it.. remember it's north of Titusville.. and the Amish are so prevelant up there that the stores have parking in the front, and tie-ups out back for the Amish buggies..

There is a place on 247, not sure of the name and another on on RT6, where the Library is.

Hmmm, I will have to look into this, my parents live in Oil City, right on Route 8/62. Can't remember the towns north of Titusville either!

SPARTANSBURG and BUELLS CORNER.. that's the name of the town(s).. If it's not 100% AMish town it has to be REAL close.. Dirt Roads, wooden plank sidewalks.. just like stepping back in time.

Rte 8/62? Who are your parents? I owned a home on W 5th St, worked at Penn DOT for awhile, and a lot of P/T work.. like Tobeys (want a Wedgie) and Movie Magic.. Lived there for 7 years, and my house LOST money!

Don't have to go far away at all. Go up 235 from Lexington Park to Loveville Rd., turn left and go until you see a little amish farm on the right hand side. Sign out by the road will read "Busy Corner Chair Shop." They'll make anything you want. Used to buy my lumber from them for furniture.

I believe that New Holland, PA is another strong Amish community. They all may be nearby, for all I know.

As for local, go to the Amish market and ask any Amish person. They can get you connected. I wouldn't recommend a third party seller; just more cost to you. Our kitchen furniture is entirely Amish-made. Excellent quality; instant family heirlooms, without a doubt.

Where's the Amish Market? When I was a little girl we lived in Lancaster, PA for a year and it had large Amish population. We went the Amish Farmer's Market every weekend. I Loved it! I think my whole family gained weight that year!

Yes, that's exactly what I meant. I want to buy direct. A bedroom set. Does anyone know where an Amish market is? I know in summer there is an Amish farmer's market in front of the charlotte Hall library. On 5 going north a few miles past Leonardtown there is I guess a Menonite grocer on the left hand side.

The people in that market are very friendly you could go talk to them or go a little further up to Rt 247 (where Vince said) and visit the other people.
