Traffic there is brutal today... simply brutal.... I guess I got spoiled cruising yesterday for nearly 14 hours going 75 for most of that I have no patience for traffic.

Thats right 'JACK' just big junk market, very little Amish involved there anymore. Some bakery items and animals.

I agree...
I HATE the traffic that market creates and wouldn't have even ventured in that direction if I didn't need groceries this morning. Now sure, I could have gone elsewhere but I didn't feel like it, driving nearly 900 miles this weekend was enough driving for me. I got up early thinking I'd avoid that mess. This method has worked for me in the past, but today I decided to hit the car wash and vacuum out my vehicle (which took several cycles to get clean 
)… by that time, traffic poured in and I went by too late. I have stopped in the market in the past but have only ventured past the fruits and veggies maybe 2-3 times... every time I have walked around the other tables, I've thought... why did I bother? I can buy most of that crap at the thrift store or dollar store.

Nope I generally avoid that area on Saturdays too and I live about 2 miles from it. I wish they would bull doze that and the Crap roach motel and put a Holiday Inn or something.

nice place to spend a Saturday. Lots of "real" antiques a customer could negotiate on. People now selling "antiques" there, have destroyed the true value of them by slopping on some stain and polyurethane and then wanting to sell them for some outrageous price. The majority of the rest of the stuff being sold there is pretty much junk.

I live within a mile of Rt.5, and I have no problems getting around on the weekends, Charlotte Hall Road is the answer. Southbound get on at Lighthouse Liquors and go to the end and merge in at the library. Northbound turn let at Charlotte Hall School Rd. to CH Rd. come out on Oaks to Rt. 5.. You'd be surprise but you can get through on Rt. 5 faster then taking the old road when going northbound even on a Saturday.

If you want a road trip, there is an Amish market in Upper Marlboro (off route 4 @ the Equestrian Center exit, right towards Upper Marlboro, left at the big intersection, right at the monument & turn into the shopping center down the road a bit.)
Open Thursday, Friday & Saturday only.
(I can speak for the stuffed chicken breasts, maple turkey bacon, and anything baked goods!

The negative comments are regarding the nasty flea market at Charlotte Hall (29890 Three Notch Road). While there are a few Amish vendors there, it's mostly a junk pile. It is open year round, I think Wednesdays and weekends.
The good Amish market is in the parking lot of the Charlotte Hall Library (New Market/Turner Rd and Route 5, on the left going north). It is open mid-April - October-ish). You can get fresh produce (in-season), baked goods, jams, jellies and pickled goods, plants and more!

Very nice place, think these folks are from Pa. they come down very early in the morning. Mostly food vendors, meat vendors. You can get really get lunches there. They have been there maybe 3-4 years, Im just sorry I didnt find them out for lunches till just before I retired. Only worked about half mile from there.
One half of the store is furniture, the food. Use to be a old grocery store where they are located, at the corner of Marlboro Pike (Rt 725) and Brown Station Rd
