Anyone know of someone local that works on Fender Amps?
Hank, try calling Garrett Music Academy, Nick may know someone. Or maybe call Hotlicks in PF. or Sacchetti's. Is it an old tube type amp or all solid state???
I have 2 that need work, both solid state.
i took an old twin reverb to sachetti music in huntingtown. they replaced the tubes, power cord and checked it out. they did a good job for a reasonable price.
What's wrong with them? SS is typically something simple. I disagree with the comment about tube amps not being worth fixing. They are the only things worth fixing.
Could be cheaper to just buy a new one these days, especially if it is a tube amp.
Good luck.
Jim Hill @VVT Amps in Waldorf. He is the closest. Otherwise, u have to go up on the beltway. Use the google to find their website. They also build boutique amps.
My M-80 is just pots and knobs plus a short somewhere... But my Showman needs some pots and knobs plus the channel selector is not working. Also, and this may be due to the busted pot but when you turn it on it just squeals and it sounds like it is stuck on 11....
Also looking for Kramer guitar parts. They seem really high on ebay. Refurbishing 2 Kramer Pacers.
Showman is tube, yes? M-80 is, I would tend to think, is going to cost more to fix than it is worth.
