Amy Winehouse Found Dead

Story

LONDON -- Amy Winehouse, whose beehive hairdo, exaggerated cat-eye makeup and singular voice made her one of the best known female British singers of this century but who apparently was unable to overcome longstanding problems with drugs and alcohol, died Saturday at age 27.

She was found dead at her apartment in north London, according to Sky News. Police are treating her death as unexplained.

Winehouse had a long history of substance abuse, including not only alcohol but heroin and cocaine. As recently as June she had to cancel a planned 12-stop European tour after appearing drunk and struggling to remember her own lyrics at the tour's first stop in Belgrade, Serbia.
Good voice, but too messed up. Oh well.

Passed away at the same age as Janis Joplin, a lot of similarities between the two lifestyles. Both had good voices and were both very messed up in life.
Janis had a unique voice, as far as good though, that's debatable.

No sympathy from me. She had the ways and the means to get herself straight. Now her dealer will have to find someone else. Good riddance.

I really liked her music. What a waste... to have that kind of talent and to throw it all away for drugs and alcohol. :boo:

Goes into the same category as Mjackson, Elvis, etc - the spoiled pampered people that no one will get tough with about their addictions for fear of losing their own meal ticket.

She loved the buzz more than anything else and I'm sure she knew this would happen. Her choice, her loss, really.

Very sad for such a young talent to go to waste. She now joins the 27 Club, how unfortunate. I liked her music, I thought she had a great voice and at a time I really thought she was going to make it when she got her addiction under her belt. I hope now she can finally Rest.
