Guys/Gals:

as houses/buildings are built, the builders follow a set of blueprints, have an agenda and judge their progress through a series of benchmarks. However, even in the best scenario's some roadblocks pop up and must be mitigated. Can we agree on that?

So, now that Mr. Biden and Ms. Harris are destined to pilot our Country, what are your expectations and/or benchmarks? What should they do, actually do about CoVid-19? Antifa? Any foreign intrusion? Undocumented immigration invasion?

I'm asking a serious question .

Actually, if you would bother to read you might already have a good idea. But, like the rest, you don't.

But I'll play.

Using YOUR assumption that Biden/Harris win. (Note: YOUR assumption not mine.)

1. Stimulus. The unemployed, the small business owners, the large corps, the states, the municipalities...those who have been devastated by COVID need help. Note: help does not include those already sucking off the govt teet like Hijinx. He does not need a stimulus check. It does not include those who have a job.

2. Begin the long slow repair of this country's reputation and standing in the world. Trump was a disaster. I do not and never will understand how anyone could vote for that man...much less vote for him 3 times.

3. Begin a decade long rebuild of our infrastructure. Increase the gas tax if necessary.

4. Push for immigration reform. There is no immigrant invasion. Never was. You're just a brainwashed fool if you believe that.

5. Fix Social Security.

6. End Trump's asinine tariffs.

7. Oh. fire anyone Trump hired that can be fired. Trump is a bumbling buffoon. He can't manage, he can hire, he can't lead.

8. Rebuild the State Dept.

9. Fix healthcare.

10. Fix Medicare and Medicaid.

11. Reign in the tech monoliths.

12. Recreate the minimum wage. Set it up like the Federal Employee Compensation geographies.

13. Increase taxes on the wealthiest...reign in defense spending...start working towards a balanced budget.

14. Most of all, I want them to act like adults. I want them to work for the greater good, not the good of their net worth. No twitter accounts...not calling into propaganda shows, no more infantile bullshit. LEAD!!

I doubt much will be accomplished because this country is now too full of people like those on here. Lead around by the nose...too stupid/lazy to look up anything or make any effort to actually understand...so the divisions will continue and nothing of consequence will likely get done.

If I had my way, Pelosi,, McConnell, Hoyer, Nunes, the wrestling coach (can't remember his name), Schumer would all be tossed out on their asses. But that won't happen either.

We the people don't hire any better than Trump did/does.

Does that suit you????

Except for the ad hominem attacks, that's a pretty good list, although some are just inane, notably #2 and #7.

That's a quite funny response.

I'll play, too.

I could agree with at least some of your points, but won't b/c you don't mention what exactly the problem is/problems are. @GURPS is correct; your list is mainly a bunch of talking points. But even if I did agree, I'm betting it would be for precisely the opposite reason. resulting in exactly opposite solutions.

I certainly disagree with "reining in the defense budget." I'm for increasing it. I just want the money spent to actually accomplish something that works toward national defense instead of looking good on a Pentagon Powerpoint slide.

While you may be a financial wiz, you ain't a foreign policy one. Trump's foreign policy approach has been a breath of fresh air and has accomplished quite a bit. If our "allies" no longer respect us (if I've summarized your position correctly) it's because they're butt-hurt their 70-year free ride had been coming to an end. We can debate tariffs. I don't like them either, But they can work. But if no tariffs, what's your better play?

Speaking of finance, given your past concerns over the growing federal deficit I'm surprised you picked so many expensive items for the government to fix. Where does the money come from once the tax base is depleted? So no, higher taxes aren't the solution; we are taxed at way too high an amount as it is to consider even higher taxes. So I have no interest, for example, in higher gas taxes to pay for infrastructure repair. That approach continues to get abused as government raids the supposedly sacrosanct "fenced highway fund" to pay for other pet projects. And "penny taxes" are insidious in that they do two crappy things: first, they are financial Chinese water tortures where we are drip-drip-dripped into penury. Second, they are a Pavlovian exercise that allows the government to condition us to accept future "penny taxes."

The bottom line to all of this is that unless you're angling for (or to be) a dictator there will always be differing views and these differing views result in sub-optimal government responses (this being a democracy that's a feature not a bug).

My solution, except for some critical government functions, is for government to get out of most of its business(es). But that won't happen because I'd be opposed by folks like you who want government involved (refer to the paragraph immediately above).

There is, of course, a way to break the gridlock and gain consensus. And that's via gentle persuasion and conversation. Maybe try it sometime instead of your usual ad hominem-dominated, brute force, bludgeoning approach? Maybe if the Dems had tried it since 2016 (at least) we might be in a different place today?

Do Nothing, send JOBS to China ... continue to let China Steal our IP - part of the reason for Tariffs if I recall that was the stick to get their attention

basically pulling out of all the Foggy Bottom Favorites .....

The Nato Free Ride ...
Pulling out of Paris Climate Agreement
Pulling out of TPP
Pulling out of Syria
Pulling out of Afghanistan

remember Obama was known as the Bomber in Chief

Just sneakin' around....

And that's the key here.... HIS points. Pretty sure Biden has never said he would do any of this. As far as I know, he only said he would undo Trumps stuff and fix Covid, but has not said who, what, how or when. No details about anything, no real plans.

Fair enough. Now, I have listed those items. When any/all of them have been met, lets mark them down, date them like a score card. At the end of 4 years, lets check that card.

When the group catches up to reality and accepts the election I'll consider it. Till then I'll just watch y'all flop around like lobotomized turtles. It'll be funny for a while until it just gets kind of sad.
