It also showed that people misidentified First Amendment rights. About one in five people thought the right to own a pet was protected, and 38 percent said they believed the right against self-incrimination contained in the Fifth Amendment was a First Amendment right, the survey found.
:duh: Unbelievable...

Yeah, me too. I got the whole family and Smithers. I had to wrack my brain for the 4th Amendment I knew. I knew speech, religion, press and assembly, in that order.

And some scoff at me when I suggest the voting public is too ignorant to be allowed that right.

I don't.

There really ought to be a test in order to vote.

There used to be. They'd turn out the lights and if they could see more than your smile, you could vote.

In My Opinion
The average American does not need a test to vote.
All they need to know is what candidate is promising them more free stuff.
like
welfare
affirmative action
tax breaks
free housing
free transportation
free health insurance
etc...

and the whole time they dont realize that all the free is going to cost them (or at least the higher earners) more money each year in taxes to pay for all the free.

thats all we need to know.
who is going to give me more free stuff and charge the other guy for it.

redistribution of wealth is a wonderful thing:sarcasm:
