NPR, PBS chiefs set to clash with GOP lawmakers during DOGE subcommittee hearing

NPR's Katherine Maher, PBS' Paula Kerger will testify before the subcommittee led by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene

Fireworks are expected to fly on Capitol Hill as the chiefs of NPR and PBS are set to testify Wednesday in front of the House of Representatives' newly-formed Delivering on Government Efficiency (DOGE) subcommittee.

DOGE Subcommittee Chair Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., sent letters to NPR CEO Katherine Maher and PBS Paula Kerger last month inviting them to testify about what Greene called their "blatantly ideological and partisan coverage" and have them defend the federal funding they receive.

"Everything is at stake," Kerger told The New York Times ahead of the hearing. "The future of a number of our stations across the country will be in jeopardy if this funding is not continued."

BURLINGTON, VT — The future of one of America's more well-known political figures was cast in doubt this week after news broke that the paid attendees of Bernie Sanders' rallies had voted to unionize.

"These leftists are tough negotiators," Sanders reportedly told an aide. "For some reason, these commies think that banding together to demand equal pay and benefits from their wealthy employer is the right plan. They even told me if I don't give in to their demands, my entire rally crowd will go on strike. I'll be ruined!"

Should have thought of that before they became a politically motivated hack club. We have enough biased leftwing propaganda outlets, thanks.

I thought I read that NPR only received 1% of its funding from the federal govt, so it will survive, PBS on the other hand was a lot higher and might have some issues staying afloat.... which is sad, it was a big part of my childhood before everything was stupid.

You want to make a woman absolutely bat-sh*t insane - okay, more so than they already are? Tell them you have a urinal in your man-cave bathroom.

Or tell them you're planning on putting one in.

In their mind, they've already "seen it," and it will send them over the edge. Looking back, early in our marriage, I told my now late wife that that's what I wanted to do in our "forever home." I'm pretty sure it ate at her for years.

Yep, if you want to let a woman down gently, let her know your plans for the future include a urinal on premises. Flames will shoot out her 4th point of contact.

If they don't, she's either a keeper, or figures she can train that out of you. It's up to you to decide.

Wouldn't you be surprised if she said, "Ok, not a problem, I know how to use one of those."

I'd have been very surprised, indeed.

Although I knew a couple of chicks - one in the Army, one in the Marine Corps - who claimed to be able to pee standing up.

I worked with a woman who used the urinal at the Capital Center. Then came to work bragging about it. One of other coworkers saw her go in the men's room and went to a different restroom.
