I'm not one to fat shame anyone, but those student loan payments don't look like they've cut into her food budget one bit.

Why can't people be held accountable for their own actions anymore?
I don't know much about student loans but, from reading the article, you can get living expenses along with money to pay for your tuition, classes, and incidental expenses (books, labs, etc). That just doesn't seem right to me.

It's been a good while but when I was in school you could get $1500 as a freshman, $2500 as a sophomore, and $4500 as a junior and senior. The school took the tuition part and dispersed the rest to you. These were government loans. Where a lot of people run afoul is with private loans.

There are a number of problems with her story and she is one of the many people I don't want to spend one single cent of my money "helping". She's a walking bad decision - why should I have to pay for that?
I'm thinking she had a huge wardrobe of designer clothes, a decent car, spent a lot eating out etc.

You can see why she kept taking that free money. But now that she has a doctorate, that's rides over.

We had to borrow more money than our kids could because of these loan restrictions on them. If these are private loans then the govt can only forgive their end of it.

I don't know about that, but I do know she must have skipped math class during all that fancy "higher education". "Here's how much it will cost me to get the education necessary for this job. Here's how much that job will pay me. Student loan repayments + living expenses vs. monthly salary."

Then there's:

Choosing to live in the most expensive city in the most expensive state in the country.
Having two children.
Dumping their dad.

Not to mention:

Believing the lies Democrats told her that nudged her into this position, THEN continuing to vote for them.

As Kyle said, she sold herself into slavery. I'm not paying to buy her back, especially since she clearly hasn't learned any lessons and within a few years will be right back in debt.

Not trying to be sexist here, but I've found most women that haven't saved for retirement haven't done so because they spent their money on clothes, shoes, hair etc, men spend it on motorcycles, cars, guitars. I knew quite a few students that blew their financial aid on everything except educational expenses, because it is often the first time in their lives they have that much money, its the same with the freedom they suddenly have, they do everything except go to class.

$240k in loans ......
Some people actually sold themselves into slavery, indentured servitude, her bringing it up here is like rubbing salt into their wounds.

Yeah I don't believe it either, but I wanted to try playing a reverse slavery card.
