Hebrews 1:1 In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. 3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. 4 So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.
5 For to which of the angels did God ever say,
“You are my Son;
today I have become your Father”?
Or again,
“I will be his Father,
and he will be my Son”?
6 And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says,
“Let all God’s angels worship him.”
7 In speaking of the angels he says,
He makes his angels spirits,
and his servants flames of fire.”
8 But about the Son he says,
“Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever;
a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.
9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions
by anointing you with the oil of joy.”
10 He also says,
“In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.
11 They will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.

12 You will roll them up like a robe;
like a garment they will be changed.
But you remain the same,
and your years will never end
.”
13 To which of the angels did God ever say,
“Sit at my right hand
until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet”?
14 Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?

There's a lot of cool stuff in the commentary.

God: The Book of Hebrews begins with no mention of the author, only of God. The human author of Hebrews remains unknown, but the book’s inspiration by the Holy Spirit is evident.
These last days: This term refers to the age of Messiah. It may be a long period, but it is the last period.
Spoken to us: This is the first general mention of the readers, but they are not specifically identified. Yet the context of the work clearly identifies it as a letter — or perhaps even a sermon or an essay — written to Jewish Christians in the first century.
Spoken to us by His Son: It isn’t so much that Jesus brought a message from the Father; He is a message from the Father. The idea is that Jesus is far more than the latest or best prophet. He has revealed something no other prophet could.
Having become so much better than the angels: This description of Jesus in previous verses shows us that He is far superior than any angelic being. Yet this tells us that Jesus became better than the angels. We could say that He is eternally better than the angels, but He also became better than the angels.
Today I have begotten You: God the Father also spoke to God the Son and described Him as begotten. The word begotten speaks of the equality of substance and essential nature between the Father and Son. It means that the Father and the Son share the same being.
Are they not all ministering spirits: Angels are ministering spirits, not governing spirits; service, not dominion is their calling. In this respect angels are like a toy that won’t quit. They keep working while the Son takes a posture of rest because He is the Son.
Merry Christmas! I'm going shopping this morning, with my oldest daughter. She is so much like me!!! It's like watching myself, only much younger and she has blond hair. She has always reminded me of a toy that just won't quit.

I have a friend who thinks when we go to Heaven.... We become Angels. Angels are the real energizer bunnies.... They can sing the same song for all the days the earth rotates around the sun, and then they will sing about how it used to go around the sun. They don't quit!

I have a friend who thinks Angels are our equals. Angels don't get Salvation.... we do. Angels weren't handcrafted by God and then set in the Garden so God could walk with them and talk with them.... like Adam and Eve. Angels were set as guards to keep us out of Eden after Adam and Eve did their thing to spoil things. Angels aren't like humans... They can't be bribed to open the gate. Angels don't quit!

This morning... I was really pleased to see that this lesson is about Angels.... because Angels announced the Birth of Jesus over 2000 years ago.... and they are still singing His Praises. Angels don't quit!

Jesus is just like His Dad. He did such a great job here on earth.... God is so proud of Him. Jesus had to come to earth, be human, and go through childbirth, childhood, and adulthood. Then Jesus had to let the moronic humans murder Him. He had to finish the job by moving through solid stone to leave the tomb humans laid Him in. Jesus could have called down all the Angels in all the Heavens.... but He didn't. His mission was to be a perfect human... and He was. He made His Dad so Proud.

When Jesus finished His job.... When He said "It is finished".... the Angels started singing a new song... about Everlasting. They knew that song very well.... Angels are Everlasting.... Angels don't quit!

Merry Christmas!

Angels are like the toy that won't quit!
