Anniversary

Ok, interested in some suggestions .....

My first year anniversary is coming up. Unlike past years, I'm not loaded with cash, so I can't spoil my wife as much as I'd like. But I would like it to be memorable, as it is our first. What sort of things did you do? We had originally planned a getaway to Niagara Falls (as she's never been there) but I don't see how we can do that now. It's in early May, so a road trip to the beach might not be bad. I just want to do more than just take her out to dinner.

Any ideas?

Try giving her a romantic evening at home, cooking dinner, the whole drawing a bath thing, watching her favorite movie or giving her a cd of her favorite songs for ya'll to dance to.

Write her a letter and tell her specifically what you loved about spending each special day throughout your first married year together. She will keep it forever. If you are a good writer, and likely to make her cry, don't give it to her in public. Don't forget to tell her how much you look forward to sharing those same special days for years to come. Happy Anniversary - and many more.

Lord, I apologize.
Give her a card saying, “the best sex you’ve ever had, redeemable anytime you want”

Just don’t be too upset when she hands you the card and runs out the door.

Perfect! :yay: Sam, that will mean more to her than anything you can buy or any place you can take her.

It is funny to read the difference responses. Women have a romantic idea, men, sex and IOU's.

Sam, Congratulations to the both of you on the 1st year. :huggy:

I vote for dinner and a movie at home and sex.

if you can remember what you did, try reliving your first date. That's what I did with my husband for our first and it was as sweet as ever. Was nice that he had remembered it too!

That might be cute - except some of the circumstances I wouldn't want to repeat. For example, my experience with people I met on the Internet would be, you should go Dutch - something she wasn't crazy about. I had a drink there, and bragged a bit about my ability to hold liquor. It was also the day I lost my job. Furthermore, we went to see the one kind of movie she REALLY doesn't care for - horror movies. Looking back, sometimes I wonder why she gave me a second chance. Think about it; he drinks, has no job, is cheap and likes horror movies. On the plus side, she said I was so NOT down about losing my job, danced with her in the parking lot and carried her food into the theater for her - and put both arms around her, in her seat. She liked all that.

well you can try to relive it but with a twist. Fix all the things that you did do wrong and point out the changes to her. Like pay for the night, go see a flick she is dying to see and you may not be so crazy about. I'd remember to dance w/her in the parking lot though. Sometimes it's just the little things that will make the night

SuzeQ nailed it on the head... (and maybe later the wife can do the same! )

If you are NOT a good letter writer, I read a hint from V-Day that said to take a box of chocolates, remove the chocolates and fill each empty candy slot with a little note of all the things you love about her! One of the notes, for example, could be a simple as something she cooks GREAT!

I, for one, am impressed that you are putting so much thought into it! :howdy:

Yeah, you stupid guys - he didn't ask what YOU want, he asked what SHE might like.

What woman wouldn't want an IOU vacation to Niagara scheduled for a warmer month?

And where did you all get the idea that I was a guy?

Because you have a guy av and typically women want to save baby seals, not club them

Are you female? Cause I've always pictured you as a guy. That might take some getting used to.

It may be corny, but a scavenger hunt can be fun and romantic. Hide notes and clues to follow to the next. As simple as around the house or go crazy and send her going from place to place you've been together with a suprise at each location. The fact that you put that much effort into it is what'll get her! End the whole thing up with a clue that leads back home and.......

Take some of the forum responses, edit them, and make an anniversary card. :yay:

Pack up your pick-a-nick basket with foods, and treats. Make sure they are ones that bring back memories. Bring a big old blanket, beverages of choice, and find a park.

Lay it all out, make a toast, and celebrate what you are!

I just love Boris---he was the best villain EVER, and IMHO was the unsung star of Rocky & Bullwinkle. That explains the avatar...

As for the seals...you've got me there  .

I am indeed female.

Guess this says a lot about my "ladylike" mannerisms....

Sorry to hijack the thread, BTW!!!
