I understand your grief with the police paying more attention to revenue generation than to other crimes. It sucks, but it is apples and oranges.

When was the last time a Bank of America got robbed? As far as I know they have privately hired guards at every branch just outside the front door.

I never said anything about anyone preventing any type of crime, you said that.

I'm saying it would be nice if the police could catch the criminals that commit the crimes, like for instance this repeat offender of a bank robber. But they don't because their priorities are diluted.

Went by that bank yesterday several times and there was a security guard standing out front. No i was not casing the bank either...just running around the PF area.

Ever been in a bank?

If so, while in the bank, have you ever noticed a little sign that says "FDIC insured"?

Do you know what "FDIC insured" means? It means that all deposits are backed by the US government. That means robbing a bank is a *federal* crime.

Do you know what that means? That means the federal government sends their police force (aka the FBI) to investigate and "assist" local police departments when a robbery occcurs.

Do you know what that actually means? The FBI is the one searching for the robber(s) and the FBI is the one who hasn't caught the said robber(s).

Do you know what that means? That means you owe the Calvert County PD an apology.

Police cannot prevent crimes, unfortunately. They do the best they can. Issuing tickets and citations, is actually a preventive measure. A simple traffic stop has netted serial killers, drug traffickers and other criminals in the past. Unless the police has an informant, they will not know in advance of any crime occuring. Real life is not a tv show. Crimes do not occur and get solved in under an hour.

^ you just made all of that up, you need to watch less action movies.

EDIT: I've made up my mind, today I'm quitting my job and trying to become a police officer. You guys will be singing a different tune when I stop these bandits once and for all.

I guess it doesn't bother anyone else that these bank robbers and real criminals can come down here and have their way, yet all we read about in the newspaper is about how some 16 year old got arrested for having some weed.
